I think its worth a small bet on gerry. the odds are 4/1 on him. He fought really well last time

no, he couldnt beat Deleon because there was too much of a size advantage, Jhonny is a bigger guy than Deleon.

The best bet is to take the 12rd distance at about 3 to 1.
In that Penalosa is too much defense andhas never been stopped before and lacks the power to KO Gonzlaez.

Gonzalez beat a guy who I think is Penalosa, but just better in Montiel. I like Gonzalez by late round TKO or UD.

Just read on fightnews in an interview with Penalosa that he, as well as many fans, thought he was robbed in his last fight (against DeLeon)... What's the go with that? Haven't seen the fight, but he lost nearly EVERY round on the judges scorecards?

How did the fight go down realistically?

The judges scorecards were bullshit. It was a lot closer than those cards indicate. Ponce landed more shots throughout, but most seemed to be of the slapping variety. Penalosa landed the cleaner better looking punches, as PDL was very easy for Gerry to counter. Penalosa was to economical with his punches. PDL got the win on workrate, he jus didnt stop throwing his wild slapping shots throughout most of the fight, thats what got him the win IMO, his aggressiveness, even though a lot of it was not effective.

Never count out old Gerry. I am sure that many bet on him because of the incredible betting odds against him. Even Roach probably bet. 4 to 1. I wished I could bet here in Australia!!!!

Gonzales was throwing arm punches, and missing with everyting. He didnt look great but Gonzales was winning all the rounds because Penalosa want doing anything.Indeed though, Gonzales starting to amount quite a lead, untill being brutally KO'd by one body punch. Gonzales looked in great pain.

penalosa isn't really an active volume puncher. he is more of a tactical counter puncher who carefully selects his punches. imo, he has the best skills of all filipino boxers fighting now. but he is also much advanced in years (35) so his activity isn't as high as when he was younger. i think penalosa is already a 2 or 3 time champ.

Penalosa is a gamer. Everyone around him in more talented, but if I were one of them I sure as hell wouldn't want to fight him.

i don't think he's fighting anymore. i heard somewhere that he'll retire after this win or lose and i hope he keeps his word. i freaking won a fortune betting on penalosa and betting on the deleon batutista fight ending early. i should have put all my vcash on penalosa instead. damnit. but it all good.... well deserved gerry!!! he is the best technical fighter from the philippines ever. never got kd'd or kio'd and will retire a champ, hopefully. wow. gerry is the man!!!
