Does anyone know any specific or roughly accurate fight purses for certain big fights
as a example
Enzo Maccarenelli V David Haye
I heard Enzo got about £250,000
and Haye got about £750,000.

Whatever they are you have to deduct 25% for the manager, then 10% for the trainer, then any expenses sch as sparring partners brought in,hotels etc, then deduct 40%tax (soon to be 45% courtesy of this scumbag government), then you get the net 'take home' figure

A manager would only get 25% if he was training the fighter as well - I would imagine.......
You don't have to pay the trainer 10% of course.

There won't be a rule that says a trainer has to earn 10%.
It will just be a common courtesy - I would be surprised if the likes of DLH pay trainer's fees of 10%, or Amir Khan (probably now yes)

When Hatton and ****** hit the courts, papers were released which detailed the purses for the Tszyu fight (and certain others)
Hatton got £900k for the Tszyu fight, that much I am 99.9% sure of (I'm working from memory).
I seem to remember Oliviera was about £400k (for Hatton) - and Kostya got £2.5m.
Fúcking huge money, no wonder Kostya agreed to come over here and fight at 2am lol.
Trainers don't have to get 10%. For example Nacho and Roach did not receive 10% of their fighters purses for the Pac-DLH fight. Both of them worked for a fixed rate independent of the purse. If that had been the case both trainer would have took home between £1-4m each which is absurd.
Some fighters may decide to give their trainer a share of the purse but as they earn bigger purses it's more likely they'll pay their trainer a fixed amount for fights rather than a percentage of the purse.

all depends who your promoter is. ****** fighters make much better cas than most. ppv and all that comes into. Carl Johaneson picked up a career high purse of 30k agaisnt Mitchell, and when i spoke to vinny kevins brother he said kevin get a minimum of 50k a fight.
Amir Khan got 1k per second against Prescott from what I've heard.

I know a former British Champion, and he told me once he was making 50k for a title defence, but after deductions, (Manager/trainer/training expenses/taxes etc), he expected to take home 10k tops.

Euro is the biggest domestic earner. British title isn't a big spinner these days 50k?? I think he's joking... As for Mitchell picking up 50 per fight... I highly doubt that.

yep i agree, £20,000 is more like it, minus cornermen wages, hotel, flights for the whole team, hotel meals

Even worse is that the man has run out of the money he has made from boxing and now lives on charity alone and needs 24 hour care.
Truly is a tragedy.

This was pretty known dude, I read it was $16 million.Lewis was mandatory challenger after Tyson beat Seldon.
damn i didn't know this but i just found this on the New York Times site.
The World Boxing Council wants Tyson to defend against Lennox Lewis of England, a former champion and now its No. 1 contender. Lewis turned down a $13.5 million guarantee to fight Tyson. Lewis then accepted $4 million from King to step aside and allow Tyson to fight Seldon, with the proviso that Tyson, assuming he beat Seldon, would fight Lewis next. Tyson is expected to receive $30 million for fighting Seldon.
Now Lewis's handlers say they will guarantee Tyson $45 million to fight Lewis, but Tyson seems more interested in fighting Evander Holyfield, a former champion. If Tyson bypasses Lewis, the W.B.C. will strip Tyson of his title for refusing to fight its top-ranked contender. It would then match Lewis and Oliver McCall, its second-ranked contender, for the vacant title. If all those things happened, the next big fight would probably be the Lewis-McCall winner against -- who else? -- Tyson.

Don King worries about Don King, Gerald McClellan was part headlining super-bills, if he felt he deserved more, he should of got better management. If McClellan only made 40k for the Benn fight, that really was his own fault, not King's.....

Jesus!!!!
I know the fighter gets like less than half after all the deductions, but on the count of all their eranings, they are pretty well-off!
And we hear many stories about Boxers ending up broke?
I wonder how Ruiz is doing with his earnings? He has made some good dough regardless of being a less liked HW.
Ray Leonard making 11 mill back in the early 80's, thats nuts. Did he go broke also in the 90's?
