I shit you not..... If this man isn't at least a top domestic contender I will have ribs removed and .......
You get my drift.
What I saw last night was truly a unique talent. I feel that with correct management we will see this man develop into a potentially world class operator. Remember this post.... :good

Yep... I'm thinking outside of the box but i've been involved in boxing for nearly 20 years and he is a unique talent. Believe me.
I think best prospect in UK boxing might be a stretch.
Maybe you've seen an unpolished diamond for British honours. It's a bold call.

His debut was against Jackson Bonsu who was Euro champ and is fighting in a WBC eliminator soon.

Just another thought.........
Rather than having the referee score the fight as well, should there be a minimum of one ringside judge scoring?
I think the ref ought to be able to just ref, rather than having to analyse the action further.....
One rule that has to go is the accidental headbutt rule - it is hardly fair to lose by TKO if you cop one above the eye...... we should adopt the no-contest rule as seen elsewhere.

He went 31-0 as an amatuer including victories against the german, begium and dutch champions. 4-4 as a pro?!!! with that kind of ability. Doesn't take a genius to work out somethings amis.
I was so impressed last night... I'm sure anyone thre would agree

Quite often a guy with an early loss (due to poor performance for instance) will be ripped off when there is a close fight and the opponent is a touted star.
Murray lost to al-Hamidi beyond question......

He looks good, records can be decieving though, just look at johnny nelsons early career.

agree about murray losing
yeh he has lost afew early but is a good fighter and he does seem to lose close desicions but if you look at his record theres some impressive names. the fighters he have lost to are good fighters, he has been matched far too hard far too early

Small is a bum!
I like guys being matched hard, but properly. Both Hatton and Calzaghe were matched averagely IMO, Khan was protected upto the eyeballs in his first 15 contests......
Appleby is probably the best matched British youngster of the past few years - five bums, a few journeymen and then the British title against a decent opponent, then a reasonable (rather than easy) first defence.
Someone like Kell Brook has promised an awful lot, but up until his last two fights has barely fought someone with a detectable pulse.

That lead left hand is absolutely outrageous :yep , the way he swarms and jumps into shots makes him look like a bit of a throwback, but I agree that with a style like that he will need a hell of a chin.
There is quite a big gap in his history, it would be interesting to see what happened during this period. I'd certainly pay to see him. :deal

:good He's got an entertaining style and co do well but he needs to matched properly. So face he's faced some tough competition for someone with the amount of fights he's had.

Is it just me or is this kid a carbon copy of Prince Naseem Hamed? Looks almost identical the way he fights.
Certainly looks a good prospect and an exciting fighter.

That's what I thought. But does he have the chin is the question? If not he's getting knocked out and sooner rather than later.

He has already been KOd twice in the 11 fights he has had as a pro. He looks very talented and losing some early 4 round fights is not the end of the world, but he has been KOd for a 10 count and stopped another time too.
That alone suggests that his chin is not good enough to allow him to use that style and mix it higher up.

In that case he should learn to keep his hands up, if he wants to go far.

michael mcguire is a great prospect. I've only seen one of his bouts against the USA, but he was the best boxer on the show. Not sure how Joe Murray got chosen to fight in the worlds ahead of him at bantamweight, but he's one to look out for.
Other than that, Amir Kahn is the UK's best prospect.
It's to early to call james degale a prospect.

I'm not taken by Degale, he can be good but i am yet to be won over. Khan has plenty of talent but his flaw doesn't need explaining. Still think he will take a world title though.
The kid in this clip looks exciting to watch, the Hamed comparison is so clear it's untrue, even down to the arms down shoulder shimmy that he used to do to take the piss. I do know that i could really get behind a fighter that has a few losses because he wasn't interested in a padded career, someone prepared to take losses on his record in order to improve at a quicker rate. Needs to produce more power from his right and improve his defence though, he doesn't quite have the speed of head movement to perfect that style imo. Good luck to the lad though.

I'm with Jeff Thomas on this one.
I've seen El Maachi twice and the guy from Rabat, Morrocco is awesome. The first time he came as opposition to the house fighter, Eamonn Goodbrand, a decent Scottish prospect, undefeated in 4 and when he came to fight Goodbrand and he was definitely the "away" boxer, he'd had 8 fights, lost 4 and was there as the journeyman, he took Goodbrand apart.
Incidentally, that night I heard the MC ask the boxer earlier, did he want his record (4 wins- 4 losses) read out or should he say 9th contest. El Maachi was adament, "read it out, I dont care, the last two were bad decisions, I gotta knock them out to win!" He said it with a big smile on his face and I took an instant shine to the guy.
Frank Maloney made the same mistake against Concepcion and he was stopped.
El Maachi was the "home" boxer last night, but the promoter Carlo Rea only seems to put shows on at this venue and he doesn't manage any boxers, so I don't know where El Maachi will get the fights, I doubt if Maloney, ****** or the rest will be in a hurry to put him in against their prospects now. He has the talent to go places but has he got the promoter to get him the fights?
I say good luck to him, he's great to watch and comes across well outside the ring.

I think the Ingle style can be very successful, but you need to be prepared to throw a lot of punches or have a great beard.

just cause he fights like naz doesnt make him special. naz was special because he could use that style and beat everyone put in front of him. this kid barely has more wins than loses and a ryan rhodes/bradley pryce would take him well and truly apart.

I could be mistaken but based on those videos he was fighting fodder not lead balls, I don't see anything that a decent boxer can't do with a dopey fighter, he will have to get more fights with higher calibre pugilist, I look like Wimbledon Champion against a casual Tennis player, but I'm not even close in reality.

He won last night on points. Also Vassell had Spitko out quicker, he did him in 3. At the age of 30 I cant see this Morocan fella going that far.
