Hatton beat the most dominant champ at 140 (Tszyu, who unified 140 for the first time in 32 years), therefore he is the most dominant champ at 140.
No question about it.
You are entitled to your opinion but that's all it is, compared to my FACTS.

That does not make him the most dominant champ ever.
That's like saying Hasim Rahman was the most dominant heavyweight champ ever after he sparked Lewis.

i agree. However he is the Lineal champ, dominant would mean that you faced and beat all of the top opposition while champ. Beating a near retired Tszyu and a Carlos Mausa who was lucky enought to run into a Vivian Harris meltdown, then moving up to welterwieght and squeaking by Collazo, just to go back down and beat Juan Urango and Jose Luis Castillo (who was fighting only his second fight at 140, the first being a nail biter to unknown Herman Ndougo) is not a sign of DOMINANCE. If he had beaten/beats Cotto, Harris, Torres, Malignaggi, Holt and Witter we could begin to talk about dominance. Ricky could still become the most dominant, but he simply hasnt fought enough tough opposition to be considered among names Tszyu, Pryor and Chavez. Each of these guys beats Ricky in their prime.
There's your FACTS.

Well if your saying he's the most dominant champ since '05 i'm not gonna argue. I think that's pretty well understood and is really not worth making a post about. But you said EVER at the top of your post and EVER is a load of shit.

Never faced the biggest challenge in the UK in what would have been a big fight against Junior Witter.
Beat Tsyzu, then the great Maussa and Urango. Debatable decision against Collazo.
Beat yet another lightweight (who had lost before) in his last fight, Castillo.
Old Tsyzu and Castillo then hardly huge names in the other title fights.
Do you think he would have the same reign and success against the following:
Witter, Torres, M Cotto and Paul Williams or Margaritto
NO!
That tells you all you need to know. :-(

Three of them are welterweights for a start. But as far as Witter and Torres go, yeah I think he'd have the same success. He's a class above them.

Exactly, Hatton feasted and still feasts on former super feather and light weights.
He's not so keen to move up.
Cotto, Witter and Torres were all at 140lbs same time as Hatton.
Instead of struggling with Collazo for a strap (WBA) at 147, the real fight would have been against a more dangerous opponent at 147.
They picked an old Tsyzu and Castillo for him, then low risk belt holders and then he gives up the belts to avoid the main challengers.

Your argument maes no sense, just because you beat a fighter, does not make you as great as he is....example, No one thinks Buster Douglas achieved more than Tyson or is as great or dominant.....he beat him....Forrest is not as Great as Mosley....and Vargas like it or not beat Winky but hes not as great as Winky.......a Rrime Chavez would have walked through Kostya...not the old version he fought....

You know me and you have this debate
You know what I think, my man: Kostya Tszyu beat more contenders in a better era for the 140 division. Pryor might have looked better -toe to toe- because he fought weaker opposition.
Here are some rankings to check out: [Only registered and activated users can see links]
But it's close, more or less like the Ali-Louis discussion at Heavyweight or the Moore-Charles at Lightheavyweight.

Just because he was near retired it doesn't mean Tszyu was any worse and he was was hardly old when this fight happened in fact he retired after Hatton dominated him. no point staying in a division where you've been put in your place.
God I hope Hatton beats Floyd then all the muppets will be saying "Yeah Floyd was old, semi retired Hatton needs to fight X, Y, Z" so I can have a great laugh at their expense
you dont think 37 is old for that weight class? then fighters are retiring way too early.
