Good win for Rampage, would have sucked for Quinton to be 0-3 vs. Wand.
But for a rematch with Forrest he needs to start checking those lowkicks.

How about Rampage vs Evans?i would like to see thaT FIGHT.
Rampage definitely looks back. It seems like he's a completly different person. Even during the weigh-ins. The "old" Quinton would've gotten upset and probably would've tried to retaliate. Quinton just looked really good last night. All you other LHWs, beware...

My goodness, Rampage looked dreadful when he was walking out. He looked like he was on death row.

Silva showed very little skills in this fight, he basically threw crazy shots and left his face wide open, you have to question wether or not its wise for him to fight. Wand has been the most dominant champion middle weight champion in pride, and you can see it in his eyes hes not the same guy, if i was in his camp i would tell him go home and and ask yourself if you want to continue fighting.
because i think he doesent... hes been there 23-0 champion beating heavyweights in pride, its not going to get any better..ever so whats the point
Silva looks dead every single time he gets laid out. I think it's time he retires. Cro Cop sent his career spiraling down very, very fast. Maybe the announcers were right way back in the day: CC sends careers to the moratorium. Silva's not been the same since. And Henderson cleaned his clock pretty badly after that.

New convert to UFC here. Had a great evening watching this stuff...really appreciated the professionalism and respect of Griffin and Rashad.
With the Silva/Rampage fight, I thought the ref was too slow jumping in.
I also thought Rampage should have seen Silva was KTFO and not slammed away at him.
Am I too much of a pussy to stick with UFC?

No. It's true that Rampage shouldn't have hit him any more. But with all the bad blood between the two and the adrenaline running through them, it's no surprise he hit him some more.

Rampage finally got revenge from silva. Rampage vs Evans should be a good fight if it happens next. :D

Rampage threw some unnecessary shots. But I've seen worse. Still doesn't make what he did right though. But what are you going to do? :think

Im not to upset with Rampages actions. Its just the killer instinct him and most fighters have you keep punching until they stop you and that ref took his time and seemed to be barley trying to pull Rampage off the guy was probablly on some serious adrealine at that moment.

His loses are bunching up towards the end of his career because he has not learned any new skills and his power and speed are leaving him now at the tender age of 32, everybody is better and he has not changed his MO, your can't hide in the UFC.

Here is part of a interview with Rampage which I found on the Fighters Only site.
On the importance of this fight to him in relation to the rest of his career:
I guess this ranks number one, because this guy beat me twice. He's the only guy ever to beat me twice and I got him back. But the thing is, I knew I could beat him. He had the whole organization helping him out there in PRIDE.
On why he believes fighting in the UFC helped him beat Wanderlei Silva:
The UFC is real, they don't play, they don't stand a fight up because they want one guy to win, they don't play games like that. I knew I would get a fair shake in the UFC. In PRIDE, both times they helped him out a little bit. He was the champion, he was their golden boy in PRIDE and they always protected him. No more protection!
Rampage was saying the same thing in the lead up to the 3rd fight. At first I though he was just trying to hype up the fight but is he just making excuses? I haven't seen the 2 fights fully for a while but I don't remember anything dodgy happening.

Good to see him accept his loss and not make excuses. I can understand him wanting to fight Rampage again but its best if he doesn't.

Yeah i agree Jimmie, i don't blame him either ..

very true, the age of the one dimentional is all but done, Chuck,CC,Tim,Hughes and Wandy have not changed their stategies much at all and it has shown the last couple years. Rampage was ready for the windmill punches and after he blocked Wandy's right hand he came back with a perfect left hook and it looked like he had it planned. Wandy still looked in great shape and was quick and explosive I don't think he's done yet maybe he can drop to 185 and start fresh there.

This is quite true..Wandy looked great..was bouncy before the KO. He had some good low kicks..I felt his punches were tight until he got reckless again...I think he needs to train with Silva and Machida to fill in the gaps in his striking. Otherwise he didnt look like a shot fighter at all..anyone would have been koed by that punch
The truth is was Wanderlei over hyped in Japan? Besides his wins over Rampage and a SD over Arona it's really not that great. it's riddled with Japenese fighters some were good but alot were just fed to him because like rampage said "he was there boy" I think it was more the Mike Tyson effect because Wandy was so exiting and vicious and came to kill every night that made him so popular. Not to take anything away from because I always liked watching him fight as well.

Nothing dodgy happened...But don't take my word for it...
just watch , that's their first fight..

right at 1:23 the ref separates them..(maybe that's what he was talking about ? )... But these types of situations happened so many times , in many different fights...(and not necessarily for the "favorite" fighter )
Also , pride had different rules...they had yellow cards , red cards..etc...

But this remark could be used for a lot of "top" fighters. Prime example , Mike Tyson. Fed him monumental cans , he looked scary , was a ko machine....and all his losses are against other "top" fighters...
and in the end , what truely makes the difference between a guy like this , (who was one of the most hyped in television history) and a guy like Lennox...is that he was another "top" guy , who would also win against "top" opponents.
In fedor's case for example...they fed him cans , b level , top competition.. a bit of everything...and he treated them all the same way.
When that happened to Nogueira , he was also able to do the same..(excepted vs fedor...) His recent loss would be more dramatic if it would've happened 4 or 5 years earlier though. Cause the guy is just shot now..
But it's easy to see who's the "real deal"...in any sports...the guy who owns everyone his prime... Of course , there's always a few unexpected moments even in a champ's career (for lennox , it was Rahman...that shit shouldn't have happened , but it did )
It almost happened to fedor (vs fujita)
Almost happened to Muhammad Ali (vs Henry Cooper )

Lyoto Machida is still the most deserving challenger.Beating him would be a major accomplishment.

Wanderlei was always overatted to a degree in Pride ill agree I think his record in the UFC speaks for that he got dominated by Belfort,Liddell,Rampage and Ortiz in the UFC but in Pride to be yeah its a several Japenese fighters but its much more then a pair of Rampage KOs and a Arona SD. Sakuraba was Japense but a legend in the sport and Wanderlei got to him at his best and defeated him THREE times easily,he got a clear win over Henderson in the 1st fight one of the best ever,Guy Mezger was a very good win,Keith Jardine although inconsistent his big wins in the last 2 years cant be forgot,Fujita agian Japenese had 40 ibs on Wandy and was one of Prides top Heavyweights add in Nakumura,Yoshida 2x,Yuki Kondo and a draw with Cro Cop that was really a win just a draw under the special rules. Wandy has a great GREAT resume one of the best ever. Whats up with him getting KOed like he does his 4 KO losses where fucking nasty like being picked up the canvas 5 minutes later nasty.

This is a good angle, Rampage kind of just swings that punch out there., it doesn't really look like he's looking at where he's throwing it.
But Wanderlei has no defence what so ever, just has his chin out there with no protection, his right arm was by his side ffs!

He did the exact same thing when he fought Chuck, except with a right hook. Perhaps Rampage just knows where the chin is!

Are you saying that it was a lucky punch? i think rampage knew exactly where to throw the punch. the punch that ko'd chuck rampage had to leap forward. this punch he was just standing.

I loved the look on chuck liddel's face after rampage jackson knocked him out.
Rampage vs. Evans ....Rampage by KO.
