It's been a great year all in all for the starching of china chinned joke hype jobs, but who's next? Bautista down, Khan is coming but I fear ****** won't allow us a proper starching for a while.

Who is it guys?:think

That's a certainty, he nearly was taken out by the last light hitting journeyman-level guy in Limond, but the question is who is directly next...:think

May be Jurgen Braehmer, the Germans are hyping this lazy joker an insane bit, the only problem is that Veit has no power, so that probably has to wait.

Punch resistance is a primary factor in a sport where one of the major factors is punching your opponent, thus leaving punch resistance, or the simple slang term "chin" a needed part of the discussion.

He's not a hype job, but Dawson does have a weak chin.

Didn't Zakman say Allan Green has a glass jaw?

Wasn't he supposed to be fighting Manfredo?

Manfredo probably lacks the ability to expose it though... Green does in fact have shaky punch resistance.

Veit's power isn't that bad. He can knock Brähmer out.
But Brähmer's chin is not the problem, it's his defense and stamina.

I don't think many Germans are still hyping Brähmer.
There are some ESB members who still think that he's the hardest puncher in the division. But those are not Germans.

Didn't Blocky write that he'll be champion soon? :D

Brickhaus
08-12-2007, 01:10 PM
I don't know if he'll be next since he doesn't have a fight lined up and he's avoided punchers like the plague, but Edwin Valero is just waiting to get exposed....

I wouldn't say Berto's that far off from Cotto chin-wise. It's yet to be seen whether he has Cotto's resolve though. Berto's issue won't be him chin, it will be his porous defense.

Jason Litzau. his chin is undiscovered element, the most brittle in the Universe.

Berto.. No doubt about it. When he was on HBO ealrier this year one of the commentators mentioned a suspect chin in the amateurs.

You guys miss the biggest thing that makes a weak chin, it's called complete lack of defense.

Most of the guys on the "glass chin" list are guys who get out of position while punching, or stick their chin out to be clipped. It's not always the chin, it's just a complete lack of respect for defense.

Then how do you explain non-defensive guys like Israel Vasquez and Samuel Peter who are extremely hard to stop, despite eating shot after shot when they are matched with an equal level opponent?

Defence is one of the most important factors, but the chin is up there as well and these glass jawed jokers that we discuss are just that, they have awful punch resistance.

Amsterdam is next, I hear he's even been dropped by light jabs before... his chin is what chandeliers are made of. :yep

You're way off base here, some guy hit me on the jaw with sledge hammer the other day and I was only a little buzzed, so it's solid enough for my purposes.:think

On the next Friday Night Fights, Litzau is going to fight Emmanuel Lucero in a battle of china chins. Lucero doesn't have good power but he could still get a KO because you can be sure Litzau will go right after the KO himself from the start and leave himself open. There is no way this is going the distance.

Kelly Pavlik and Paul Williams.

I've seen both in a few fights. Their height and reach give opponents fits, but on the few occasions they've been tagged they seemed to get stunned a little too easily. But their opponents couldn't sustain the attack.

They'll probably do okay 'til they each move up in weight class, tho'.

Did you catch his fight with Margarito? He took a good number of shots and Margarito's a hard puncher. Williams was stunned but he never went down. If he had a china chin he would've been stopped that night

Agree to the Berto prediction:good

Maybe Dawson who fights a hard hitting guy in his next fight. Dawson wont be a china chinned joke even if he gets ko'ed though.

Khan maybe in a yearor so when he steps it up.

Sorry, Wlad is the one that's gonna be getting his china chin checked for the 2352634th time in his career and end up knocked out for the 4th time. Klitschko fans will use his absence in the ring during 2007 as an excuse for him getting knocked out though, not his chin.
