Hollie "Hot Stuff" Dunaway vs Mary "The Heat" Ortega was one hell of a fight. Both have skills but Dunaway is better than a lot a men in the 120 pound weight class. It was a slug fest. Dunaway's loss in Germany was a robbery also.

If two women have skills and can put on a fight, then why hate it? They work just as hard and are just as passionate as men, and they're competing on an even keel against other women. There was a decent women's fight on ESPN the other night.

 I hate it because most women fighters suck. They are just old fat butch women.

What Ortega lacked in skills, she made up for in stamina, grit and heart.

That's how it was in the 90's. But now there are starting to be some very good women in the amateurs getting experience, and if they turn pro; they'll raise the skill level quite a bit. One girl in particular; Katie Taylor from Ireland, is very impressive.

Are you kidding me? Laila Ali sucks! For God's sake, there are amateurs with like 20 fights that would kill her! Akima Stocks would flatten her!

I'm afraid I have to agree.
Can't stand woman's golf, darts, football or boxing.
I don't like the new boxrec layout now that they insist on showing you the woman's details on the front page - it simply clutters up the page with info I will never look at.

Dunaway's loss in Germany was a robbery also.Which one do you mean? Her loss to Halmich was clear (Dunaway was a lot less experienced that time) and the bout with Sahin was very close. A draw would have been ok for both, but it wasn't a "robbery" ... no way.
Even her face looks manly. You got too much experience with ladyboys.

Yes, she's succeeded admirably in living off her Daddy's name. She's terrible though, I hope she never embarasses the sport with another "fight" again.

Unwatchable in such an amateuresque way that it is painfully dull; not unlike the WNBA. If I had an interest in watching no talent athletes put me to sleep, I'd be over at the local park at this very moment watching a bunch of fat guys play bar league softball.

Well said. I can enjoy a women's fight for the same reason I can enjoy a man's fight: If they are skilled and it's a good fight. I have watched Mary Jo Sanders in person three or four times; she usually puts on a good show.

I wouldn't say see was terrible. Her competition may be but not her. As far as women's boxing is concerned Ali is one of the best of the worst.

Holly Holm isnt too girly. She's a good fighter that actually has a fighters mentality. She trains with my brother and when she gets hit, she gets pissed and wants to hit back. She's a fighter.

She's built up quite a bit of publicity too and if she were to turn pro she'd do very well(thanks to the current revival of pro boxing in Ireland) in bringing that publicity from amateur to pro(think a lower degree of Amir Khan in the UK) .
I've only seen her a few times myself but she's a good fighter and I'm guessing with the relatively poor quality in the majority of womens boxing that Katie would do very well for herself .
The women are getting better all the time. Baby Doll Reid schooled Shin-Hee Choi for the WIBA and IFBA flyweight titles last month. She looked damned good doing it - a slick, smart short southpaw who knows how to outbox a taller opponent from the outside with jabs and straight lefts. If she had the advantages of a man's musculature, physique and coordination, she'd be a top notch flyweight in men's boxing. (And Baby Doll is cute as a bug if that matters.)
My favorite is Alejandra Marina Oliveras, the WBC women's super bantamweight champ. She's a short buzzsaw with pretty good pop for a small gal, especially in her left hook. She blasted Jackie Nava with that hook to take the title last year. Locomotora is fighting with a disadvantage too - her enormous boobies much weigh 10 lbs, so she's really a flyweight in the super banty division. During her first fight against Nava, halfway through the match Alejandra's boobies kept threatening to pop outta her sweat soaked top, and she wasn't wearing a chest protector. She spent half her time ad******g her top for modesty, the other half throwing bombs. I've noticed that since then she wears a more effective restraining device. :nut
So, tell me again, what's not to like about women's boxing? They've got the heart, some of 'em got the talent and most of 'em are better looking than Carlos Baldomir. :bbb
