He showed a few skills there. A shame he got into the drugs, what a waste.

speaking of grange hill, do you know where i can buy em on dvd? The retail versions are crap, they edited over the dialog that may semm offensive for todays AudiendceAlso the original music used in some scenes are edited due to copyright.

:good

Its nice to see some proper amateur boxing for a change, sans headgear, working a bit on the inside and throwing the occasional body shot.

I'm showing my age here lads, but I remember that contest and series too well. It was called Henry Cooper's Golden belt. Where cities from around Britain would fight each other for the coveted belt. Another wee bit of information is I'm pretty certain that "zammo's" opponent is Paul "hoko" Hodkidson's younger brother Kevin. That was a good bout. That's the way we amateurs used to fight back in the day.KOs and stoppages were common and it made for a good spectacle.

Lee was never into drugs, that was the Zammo character from Grange Hill, Lee was injured in a car crash which ended his boxing career. Lee now runs his own locks smiths business in Wallington Surrey.

The footage was of the actor in "real life" not Zammo the character :tong.

Good fight that from 'back in the day'. Was good programme that, always used to watch it and complain that my little provincial ABC would never get on. Completely forgot about club amateur boxing being on terrestrial telly so thanks for posting.

I remember when he was on Henry Coopers golden belt, they were talking about him being a fight or 2 away from the commonwealth games team. He was a good amateur, Henry told him to make a choice boxing or acting.

I think after Grange Hill he had chosen boxing but a car crash ended any hopes of a career.
