This monster has sort of gone under the radar, probably because he's a bit like Lesnar but less famous.
How good a wrestler is he? How good a fighter is he?
In terms of resume he can't be compared with Lesnar, but from seeing him on film does he look as talented a fighter, as good an athlete? :think
I think I'll tentaviely pick him to beat Gonzaga on the grounds Gonzaga must be having nightmares about facing a 270lb wrestler after what Randy did to him, and he probably doesn't have the heart to take an ass-kicking and still pull out a Nog-like sub. Gonzaga will be the first live opponent he's faced apparently, so we'll see.

He seem to have good boxing, so I do think it will be a war standing vs Gonzaga, even if he should try to use his wrestling to control Gonzaga on the ground.

How many of his fights have you seen?
I've only seen him against that bum in England.

i've seen 2 only, but never had the chance to see a fight where he used his wrestling, just his great punching power with his good boxing technique.

I read Shane was - 2x NCAA Division II Wrestling National Runner-up HWT (1996,1997)
Also, NCAA II Wrestling National Champion HWT (1999)
The article also mentioned he was, 2x NCAA II All-American in Football and Ring of Fire HWT Champion.

He is basically just a slightly less talented Lesnar.
His frame isn't as big, he isn't as brutally powerful, and hasn't developed as quickly.
That said, he is a very good wrestler, and has a huge upside.

No problem, Polymath.
I really like the look of this guy, like what i've seen so far.
I also think alot of peoples questions will be answered in the Gonzaga fight, that's a real tough one for both men ..

He is not talented or skilled, just a massive gear abuser.

i think carwin has the perfect makeup to go far in the devision.
comparing him to lessnar, i dont see any "less talent" so far.
on the upside, i think he body looks much better, a bit "leaner" .........not that totally overdeveloped chest that lesnar has.
carrying that mass around with him in that area will only get him tired.......like he was after one round with randy.
sooner or later, lesnar vs carwin is gonna be the fight for the heavyweight devision. cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!
