Funny that the biggest fight you didn't mention was Cotto-Mosley.

This is an excellent time for boxing. Just as importantly, a lot of the big fights this year have been good (of course, there have been exceptions). I've had people over who watched boxing for the first time and got to see Cintron-Matthysse, Gomez-Gatti, and Williams- Margarito. Another time my friend came over and got to see Ding KO Nwodo. I took my girlfriend to her first boxing match... and it was Cotto-Judah. It's a good time to bring attention to boxing.

Agreed. I hate august.

It hasn't got much left alright , just Arthur Abraham's defence of his title against Khoren Gevor , Cazares v Calderon and Bernard Dunne's defence of his Europe title(which I shall provide a link to a stream for all of you unlucky enough to live outside Ireland) .

That said we have had Vasquez v Marquez , Morales v Diaz and the 'World Cup' cards already this month so it hasn't been that bad .

Just looking at boxrec and Chris John and Mzonke Fana also defend their titles this month .
But for the first time in probably 10 years I'm able to say , that 1 of the 3 best boxing cards in the whole world in the next 3 weeks is in Ireland :happy(of course this has a lot to do with the quality of fights throughtout the world in the next 3 weeks) .

Anyway(more shamless promotion)
Bernard Dunne(24-0-0 ,14ko's) v Kiko Martinez(16-0-0 , 13ko's)-European Super Bantamweight title

Tony Oakey(24-2-0 , 6ko's) v Brian Magee(28-3-0 , 19ko's)-British Light Heavyweight title

Homecoming of Middleweight prospect Andy Lee(10-0-0 , 7ko's) v TBA

Matthew Macklin(18-2-0 , 14ko's) v Darren Rhodes(21-12-3 , 7ko's)

Paul McCloskey(11-0-0 , 5ko's) v Alfredo Di Feto(12-3-1 , 5ko's)

As I said I'll post a stream the day of the bout(25th of August) .

Magee has moved to light heavy...pity he's shot, he had great potential at one point

Macklin will go onto be very very good I think once he develops a bit more common sense in the right and Andy Lee is a fantastic prospect.

Bernard Dunnes progress over the last 12 months has been very impressive as he had a shaky patch there a couple years back but if he steadies himself a little he could line up a major title in the next 18 months...

We got to thank the UFC for making the boxing people realize that they need to be on their toes. The UFC guys are still far, far away on the horizon but their closing in a little bit. Theres nothing like competition (even if relatively small) to make the boxing people on the top of the "food chain" to sit down and seriously take notice.

The boxing people are now pulling out all the stops. Thank goodness.
