After re-watching DLH vs PBF for the third time (Scored it 8-4 to PBF when I watched it first, now im leaning more towards 7-5) i'm just wondering that if Oscar's that much past his best, yet still made it a close fight - What a prime Oscar would have done.
Watching over past great Oscar performances such as vs Vargas, i'm more and more convinced that a Prime Oscar would have beaten PBF.

what rounds you give oscar?
First 6 and 1 in later rounds though he tired greatly letting Floyd back, would have no arguments with a point either way though.
What suprised me the most was not just how past it Oscar was, but how even his punches had slowed down and lost power.

Oscar takes it at 147. And probably 140.
130, which is more PBF's prime weight, Mayweather edges it.

Depends what weight class. I would favor Oscar at 147, but at 140 and 135, it's 50/50. At 130, Floyd's best weight, I would favor him.

no your right a 5'8 milk dud who refuses to engage in his fights and has yet to have a meaningful career altering fight would easily devour this generations king of super fights

Oscar in his prime would torch Floyd. Remember when Oscar use to have that bounce. You're best to get out of the way once Oscar start bouncing towand you .

The lower weight classes tend to favor Mayweather, and the higher weight classes favor Oscar.
Oscar's a bigger guy than Floyd.

Fighters like PBF would always give Oscar problems prime or not. See the Sweet Pea fight for reference.

How is Oscar that much past his best? What shows this? NOTHING!
PBF in his prime is at a lower weight and is a MUCH better fighter.

Oscar wins at 147 and 154. PBF schools him at 130 and 135. It's 50/50 at 140.

To me it looked like Oscar had no problem with ANYONE until he got to 147. I remember him having an incredible left hook, jab and speed. I also remember Jesse James Leija saying he didn't think a human could hit that hard. I think De La Hoya would Ko Mayweather inside 8.

Makes sense, as does sweat pea. ODH was a complete one handed fighter at 130-135. 140 has a slight edge to oscar with his power and he had some speed. But Floyd at 140, though he didnt fight the best. Looked like a monster. I mean he looked stronger and faster to me. 130 we all know floyd was a complete beast. I agree with Pea and Asterion. Floyd is the better fighter then ODH in my book all around. He is more complete.

From 130-140 Floyd did engage, I suggest actually watching him at those fights. De La Hoya was a green pup at 130, Floyd was the best 130 pounder ever, watch him there and tell me he didn't fight. I'm no Floyd fan, but he would demolish DLH at that weight. At 135 DLH was still smaller and not at his best, good fight, but Floyd wins. At 140 it is a 50/50 fight, both at their best I'd say.
You're a Floyd hater, pretty obvious, or you're just not very educated to think he was a punk at the lower weights, he was way better at those weights than he has shown at higher weights.
Well said :good

I want to say DLH easily, but he's always faded in the late rounds.
Still, he would win more early rounds and take the fight, even though the probably would struggle in the later rounds, as usual.
I don't think using the "post-prime DLH lost by a few points to prime PBF, so prime-DLH would beat prime-PBF" argument is valid. At this point in his career or at that weight class, Floyd just does enough to win. The more his opponent pushes himself to win, the more Floyd will push himself to beat him.
Prime for prime I think Floyd would beat him at 130, 135, 140, and 147. At 130 and 135 it wouldn't even be close.
