Who would you pick from the aussie h/w 2 take on duke?

my pick would be mirovic so when duke KTFO mirovic , mirovic is forced 2 retire, my 2nd pick woud be haumono

Why would anyone risk catching aids. Morrison shouldnt be allowed to fight it is to much of a risk.

Any of these guys willdo..

Even nearing 40 and with aids the duke would lefthook these guys into retirement.

I cant say any of the names mentioned possess great defence which would be fatal if they were to take on the duke..

I seen the dukes fight he had with some fat bum in a cage. And even though he is well well well past his prime he could still work the ring and still had a arsenal of right uppercuts/ massive lefthooks..

I just hope Tommy gets into atleast decent shape. If he does then none of our heavyweights(besides Meehan) could mess with his stuff..

Hoppa has been laid out already in his short career.Though he is making great progress he still gets hit alot as shown against a d level fighter at best Mirovic..

Morrison was once a world class power puncher..

And as the old saying goes the last thing a fighter loses(especially the heavies) is their punching power.Just cant see any of our guys handling a Tommy Morrison left hook..

Morrison is totally shot as a fighter. He is lucky to go 6 rounds without falling down through exhaustion.A farce.

Not Mirovic.

But the younger guys like Solo and Hoppa could KO him whereas Briggs could win on pts

P.S Now on ESPN 508
ESPN 7PM/5PM Classics: Holyfield vs Foreman 1 hr.

ESPN 8PM/6PM Classics: Lewis vs Morrison 1 hr.

Got 2 words ............

LEFT HOOK...

Doesnt take 6rounds to land power shots on our heavyweights...

Morrison if in decent shape would still blow all our heavies besides meehan within a few rounds...

the last footage i seen of Morrison was against some fat bum in a CAGE fight and though he looks old he seemed still fairly conditioned(not great) and could work his way around the ring well..Landed 2 massive lefthooks that broke the poor bastards nose that bad it had to be called. off..

Im all for Hoppa vs Morrison....And iwill be sitting ringside watching hoppa get his face fistfucked.

Mate honestly, when was the last time you saw Tommy fight? He looks like shit these days. He's huffing and puffing like the big bad wolf after 2 rounds.

Apart from all of that, Hoppa's manager has said he's got bigger fish to fry in the US than Tommy, so that one won't be happening.

Look Hoppa's making alot of progress but lets be honest who could he beat of note at the moment??

I dont even think he could compete with c level heavies like Danny Williams,Audley Harrison and Matt Skelton etc let alone bigger fish to fry in the U.S..

Dont forget he was in a massive war with a D-level at best Bob Mirovic..

P.S... Tommy does look like shit and yes he may have stamina issues etc but i still think he would be better opposition for Hoppa at this stage...

Aint like hoppa hasnt been iced within a few round by a unfit fighter before..

Gotta agree, the British B graders like Williams/Harrison and Skelton wld be too much for Hoppa.

Yeah mate Hoppa aint ready..

Lets see if this re match with Mirovic happens and if Hoppa beats him convincingly then maybe we can slightly toot his horn some more...

Because there last bout could of honestly went either way...And we all know what has happened to mirovic when he has stepped it up against the likes of Danny Williams etc...

I agree that Hoppa needs another fight with a tough gatekeeper to really gauge where he is at and for a chance to make some improvements, However i would prefer that he didnt rematch Big Bob.

Bob has been a great ambassador for aus boxing and for the sport in general, as he is a tough customer who never dogs it and has taken many a dangerous fight with hardly any training (Valuev springs to mind) However bob needs to retire now and pass on the torch to the new crop of aussie heavys, as well as saving himself from a possible tragedy.

I think he would make a good comentator and he could probably try his hand at training

Not any more they have banned him because he doesn't do what he is told, goes off with the pixies talking about his sponsors.
And do you really want someone that slurs his words from getting punched in the head being the face and voice of our sport.
I think not.

There was talk of Morrison possibly carrying a blood borne disease but I'm pretty sure it was n't H.I.V. or aids but hepatitus which affects the liver . Still very serious but not quite in the other league. All pro boxers are blood tested for this .

If Tommy tested positive for Hep C he would be fairley wealthy from suing writers and publications that have clearly stated that he has HIV over the last 10 or so years.

Don't come to this forum and play everyone for an idiot, you sound like someone on the road to drum up publicity for a crock of shit that niether this country nor this sport needs.

Anenigma after rereading that article on Morrison I realise I got that H.I.V. thing wrong big time . Apologies all. I'll have toget my research up to speed & keep my head down for awhile.
