I think you actually need some hype to be a hype job , the only place where Kessler is hyped is probably Denmark .

At the very least he's a good solid World Champion , whether he's on Calzaghe's level is another issue but we'll find that out soon enough .

Jermain Taylor.

Fuck your poll.

At least Taylor's proven against quality opposition (allbeit debatable) . What's Kessler done apart from beat a very timid Anthony Mundine ?

You're trying to discredit the win before the fight has even started:think

You must reaaalllllly hate Calzaghe huh.

Nope, he's my favourite fighter. Just sick of this Kessler bandwagon thats appeared from out of no where. Calzaghe should be fighting Hopkins/Taylor/Tarver rather than Kessler who's nothing more than an alphabet champion.

Jermain Taylor.

Fuck your poll.

:huh

The guy does nothing but fight top competition and win (or at least keep it close...regardless of how you feel about the Hopkins or Wright fights)....and he is a hype job?

The guy is an unquestionable top 5-12 p4p fighter in the world.

YOU MUST BE KIDDING!!!

I don't like to call fighters "hype jobs," but I'm not too high on Andre Berto

Maybe the original poster ought to ask himself why it has taken over 40 fights for Calslappy to finally step up.

Kessler isnt over hyped at all, hes a top quality fighter.

All the three fighters you suggested would be less of a threat to Calzaghe than Kessler. Moreover, there would always remain an unanswered question, if Calzaghe didn't take on the Dane. Your poll is disrespectful principally to Calzaghe, because Kessler isn't hyping himself up. Calzaghe himself is hyping Kessler up! Are you saying he is lieing when he describes this fight as one of hardest so far? If so, isn't Calzaghe hyping himself up, by turning his straw-man opponents into dangerous knights in armour in our eyes?

Well said

he has been fighting his mandatorys ever since he became a champ and they have all been top 10 ringmag fighters(maybe eric lucas were top 15,i dont remember)(2 or 3 even top 5) but u go ahead and tell us what he could or should have done instead ?

I thought this was gonna be a serious poll, I was ready to vote for Mesi, Litzau or somebody else who was an obvious choice. This is b.s. I have only seen kessler fight two or 3 times, but he has some serious skills he beat a very game challenger in Andrande earlier in the year. Though he complelyt shut down Andrande, Andrande was a very serious challenger who would have give a lot of other 168lbers alot of problems.
