The shit's already barely consumable with milk and milk is more protein right? But I've been hearing ditch the milk and go water. I can't imagine what that's gonna taste like.

the reason people have it with water is to save on calories

i thought it was because it is absorbed quicker if you take it with water.

absorbing and the speed of such is bs you'll get it anyway

buy a better tasting protein (read: more expensive)

Milk contains significant amounts of saturated fat. Thats why its better to take it with water. Either way your body will only metabolize what it can and you`ll shit out the rest. Be prepared for some really smelly shits.

If you're eating a balanced diet, you're getting enough protein already. I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah it mixes a lot better with water so its better for on the go. But if you're doing it at home and its a low carb protein powder milk can be quite good to add the required sugars.

When I do take protein, I personally mix it with skim milk. If I do take a protein mix I normally substitute it for a meal (I have 5 smaller meals throughout the day) because of its added fat and calories, especially when mixed with milk.

I do Muscle Milk, cookies and cream. Its quite tasty. Not with water though... gotta be milk.

I mix it with water when I take it at the gym. If you have a decent quality brand it will be fine. Probably a fruit flavored one would go better with water.

If you prefer it with milk that is fine. I do that at home sometimes.

I know guys who consume 500 grams of protein a day, they even set their alarms on the bed side table so they can wake in the middle of the night and gulp some more down, but I agree for a normal human you should have a well balanced diet and avoid over priced protein drinks and powders.

It's completely unnecessary and incredibly hard on your kidneys.

I think it mixes better with water and the taste is bad in both so not a huge difference

I work and go to school so I eat once before 4pm and maybe 2 more times afterwards so maybe I'll be alright with milk seeing as I can't eat much due to my schedule anyways...thanks for the help though.

it's up to you to mix it with water. I usually just mix it the way it says on the directions. As long as your doing your protein mix than hitting the gym, I wouldn't worry about extra calalories. Unless your cutting weight as a flyweight.

i'd just fallow the directions and train hard. If you need to add anything extra, add a egg for extra protein, and maybe some sort of fruit and honey and blend it all up.

they all say consume after 20 mins of making.

how the hell are you supposed to make one up in a gym, take a blender in with you and mix it up in the changing room?!? haha

*****,

Just do what i do...

We ll use 1 cup for example... rather then use 1 cup of water or 1 cup of milk just do half a cup water half a cup milk.
This gives u a better creamier taste, without worrying about TOO many caleries.
Best of both worlds.

I do this too sometimes so I dont go through as much milk as I already have it at every breakfast atleast and I would be buying a lot of milk if I used it everytime.

It depends what works for you. I bring a scoop in a bottle with me separate from my water bottle and just mix it with water right at the gym before I leave. This method has helped me loose weight in a round about way. Previously, I would come home shower and then eat everything in sight because I was mad hungry after working out, I was exercising regularly but overeating after. Now I have the shake there before I leave and by the time I get home I am not hungry and dont over eat. Works for me:thumbsup
