Just been watching a Setanta repeat of Haye-Barrett and that random guy (David Croft of BDO darts/Formula 1 fame) they've plonked with poor Richie Woodhall is very average. I used to love listening to fights on 5live when John Rawling used to do his stuff there. The main reason being that he was a complete doom-monger! I remember listening to some big fights (I was a poor child from a poor family without Sky) involving Naz, Lewis, Bruno and even Calzaghe and Rawling's willingness to let you know that everything could go wrong at any moment had me shitting it many times. I still believe that listening to fights without watching them is a completely different experience - a lot more emotional!
Anyway, who's your favourite? Ian Darke? Harry Carpenter? David Coleman? Remember Reg Gutteridge?

Does anyone know why John Rawling left Setanta?
It's not like he's over worked with ITV!

Gutteridge is the man IMO, but Duke 'cliche' McKenzie and Barry "State the bleedin' obvious" McGuigan apart, I can put up with almost anyone.

Jim Watt easily, yes he's a bit biased but he certainly can get you excited unlike Woodhall whos voice does my nut in, and i think if i ever hear him commentate on another Zab Judah or should i say Judder fight then i will kill myself.

I like all of them apart from the joker who they have on Setanta now.....
Duke McKenzie and Jim Watt can grate at times, with their idiosyncracies.... but you can tell that they clearly know their stuff.
Ian Darke edges out John Rawling.... and Richie Woodhall decisions Glenn McCrory.
