by august i plan on being able to do the following:
15 pull ups
50 push ups in under two minutes
100 sit ups in under two minutes.
run two miles in under 15 minutes and 5 miles in under 40.
now i got some work ahead of me as i am out of shape and could never do one pull up.
ive started lifting for pull up specific muscles now and will hopefully be able to get at least 6 by mid march.
as far as push ups go the most i can do right now in under two minutes is close to 20-25.
my running time is three miles in 40 minutes but was alot better when i was going to my gym so that will work its way back up.
sit ups arent that much of a problem when im in shape so once i go back to my boxing gym in a couple of weeks that will be no problem i will be posting my workouts for the day hear to keep me motivated on my dream of going airborne in the army and getting my jump wings.
any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm guessing you're from michigan :)? You need to make sure that you incorporate the beginner exercises for learning a pullup. Simpling doing weightroom pulling exercises (lat pulldown, rows) won't get the job done. Do 4XMAX Timed holds (working up to 4X90-Seconds) and negative pullups (where you start at the top and slowly move downwards). When you are able to complete a few pullups without assistance, look up the "grease the groove method" or design a simple program like this one:
3 Days/Week of 40-Minute Runs/Walks/Jogs (working up to running 5 miles in boots)
2 Days/Week of 15-Minute Runs/Walks/Jogs (working up to running 2 miles in boots)
3 Days/Week of Pushups/Pullups Superset Followed by Crunches/Supermans Superset
Then add whatever you want to the above, as long as it doesn't hinder your main objective. The irony is that you could just adopt a boxing schedule and it would complete your goal. Boxing 4-5 Days, Running 5 Days, then the above Calisthenics on 3 non-consecutive days, 1 day for complete rest from everything. My 2 Cents, hope this helps you out.

You want to be Airborne, right? Just run and do loads of push ups and sit ups everyday. No need for the weights. It's not rocket science. I'm currently training with 4 PARA (that's 4th Battalion, The Parachute Regiment for the non Brits) so know what I'm on about. No point in getting into Tabbing or anything else Airborne since US Airborne don't have any real selection criteria, hence are faggits. But be specific with your log, stop with the ''ran a bit'' stuff. How far did you run? What time did you do it in? Stop being lazy with your log.

Been having trouble getting to my boxing gym because of the distance and lack of mobility so i have been doing simple but effective circuits like this along with running two miles every other day to hold me over in between gym sessions. i increase time as weeks go on this is my recent time at the moment.
1) Bench press* or pushups - max in 2:00
2) Squats - max in 2:00
3) Pullups or pulldowns - 2:00
4) Bike or jog - 3:00
5) Military press* - 2:00
6) Lunges - 1:00 each leg
7) Bicep curls - 1:00
8) Bike or jog - 3:00
9) Tricep extensions.- 1:00
10) squats - 2:00
11) Situps - 2:00
12) Crunches - 3:00
13) Stretch

This is the shittest log in ESB history. Even Youngtypo's log makes more sense and the dude has the intelligence and common sense of a retarded Bonobo monkey on meth. Either put the effort into making a proper log or just end it. How can you expect to be Airborne if you can't be bothered making a basic internet workout log? Do you know what 'Airborne' is? Do you understand what it takes to be a Shock Trooper? Pull your finger out and put the fucking effort in. That or join Logistics or 'Fag Corps' aka line infantry. They love people who sit around doing fuck all.
Last time I'm asking this: What time did you run? How many push up's, sit up's and pull up's can you do?

i ran two miles in 20 minutes, and in two minutes i can do 35 push ups, pull ups im still working on one, and sit ups i can do 50 in two minutes.
at boxing we started off our workout with 10 minutes of running to warm up. did various stretch routines, then gloved up.
we did 8 rounds on the bag. 1st round involving different combinations the coach called out, 2nd the same, 3rd round we did ten drills, 4th round we did ten drills, 5th round-6th round we did 26 drills, 7-8th rounds we did 30 second drills. the minute rest bell in between rounds. we do 25 jumping jacks.
finished off with a couple of laps and 100 jumping jacks.
a light workout as the coach had to leave early.

No problem, training is about admitting your weaknesses improving on them.
If there's a running club nearby sign up. Don't rely on boxing or yourself to improve your times. Running clubs are awesome way to smash run times. When I first wanted to sign up I was really unfit and joined a running club to help my training. In a few months my fittness hit the roof and now I can do 5 miles in 34 mins. Which I'm not happy about.
All you do in boot camp is push ups, sit ups and pull ups. Just do as many as you can everyday and slowly you'll see the results. Remember, quality not quantity. If you do 50 shitty push up's none will be counted in the fitness tests.
So, sign up for a running club, middle distance. You'll do all kinds of good stuff like 20x200m sprints, 6x3k's, 400m-300m-200m x 6, hill reps and all other kinds of very good training.

been runnin liftin and boxin.
still cannot do a pull up. i cut and blistered my hands trying today.
just got home from the gym its 12:00 at night. i like working out at night more.
did a mile run warm up, then stretched,
did an upper body weight circuit for endurance.
tried to do pull ups.
did a 20 minute interval session on the bike machine. (i.e. started at level 5 for 5 minutes brought it down to level 2, took it to level 7 for 3 minutes, brought it back down to level 2, took it to level 10, then finished off the last minute with a level 3 cool down.)
a light workout i reckon.

are you just training to get weight off at the moment? with the pull-ups the only thing to do is keep at it, get a bar and just do them as often as possible. monkey bars in kids play grounds are great too as they get your arms used to supporting your weight (but go early in the morning when you run cos you dont wanna look like a nonce do ya!). i'd suggest a good thick, strong rope to climb too, but from what you've said its not going to do you much good at the min. press-ups are like pull-ups, the only way to get good at them is to do them as often as possible. then do some more! i'd also run every day if i was you, you need to get used to pain anyway, and you wont get a day off in the army. stop being soft now, dont wait for them to make you. mix your runs up though so it doesnt get boring, steps, hill sprints etc and train twice a day, every day. but take weekends off, just go for a light swim or if you play any sports, try save it as a weekend activity. walk everywhere, dont drive or use public transport. the army's a great life for the right people. it doesnt matter what regiment/unit. i spent a year in the royal marines but due to a badly busted knee i couldnt complete the commando tests so came out and joined the infantry instead and served for 8 years. enjoy it mate, good luck.

Damn I haven't read this in a while, if I'm going to do the army it will wait till after college now. I was talking to my recruiter and he said that they are on a stand still because they already met their mission and quota of new recruits.
I have plans for college now, then possibly the military.

Good luck mate.
Thanks for the good luck wish and all the help.
I still think I'm going to join but there is something like a half year to a year and a half wait to get in right now, so I will get my degree while I wait, kill two birds with one stone. At least thats what they told me, because of the economy.
Then again I'm in Michigan with a 15.2% unemployment rate, so it makes since.
My friend has to wait until May to get shipped out from the Marines, and their quota is considerably less than the Army's if I'm not mistaken.
