i just watched an interview on youtube that carson daily asked mike tyson, "who hit you the hardest?"

mike tyson dident say who hit the hardest but he said that holyfeild hit him the most relentlessly.

its history that holyfeild stopped tyson in the first fight and its also agreed by many that he was getting the better of tyson in the second fight.

but i couldent help but remembering how angry tyson was getting in the 7th or 8th rounds in the second fight and how much the crowd was playing to it when tyson was yelling and waving him in with is gloves before he started to bite.

Interesting question.

I think that Tyson would have gotten wild and frustrated and Holy would have taken him down.

7 or 8 rounds?? It happen in round 3.

Either way, I think Holyfiled repeats his feat. Looking back, its relly hard to make Tyson the favor in the rematch. Yes I can see it in the first match, but after a thrashing like that, I belive Holyfiled should be favor in fight II.

well lets not forget holyfield's headbutts in that fight... and 2 tyson was doing great in the 3rd round...

so who knows but the thing is cuts on his eyes(result of headbutts) would not help his vision.

and ofcourse if holyfield were to headbutt or foul him or anyone it is always called an accident no matter how many times it happens....lol

Holyfield would have stopped him and probably earlier then the first time.

Evander is Mike's daddy. He won the first two rounds even easier than during their first fight, and would've gone on to beat him just the same. Tyson had a good third until the bite, but it wasn't as good as, say, the 5th round of the first fight. Yet Holyfield came back there as well.

Evander probably stops him later, but I think Tyson would have his moments later in th fight. Holyfield's headbutting tactics were dirty, but I'm not condoning Tyson for biting off a piece of his ear.

From what I remember, the entire crowd was all in favour of Holyfield, with Tyson portrayed as the bad guy which I think was wrong.

The crowd was upset with Tyson, even thowing garbage and bottles at him when he left the ring. Think he got into a scuffy with some of the fans when he left also.

Tyson i am sure would vote for the option that says Holyfield KOes him. Why do you think he bit him in the first place.

Yep.

Holy didn't need a few rounds to adjust to Tyson this time, he knew what to do from the start and was doing it. Hence the reason Tyson quit.

Holyfield by decision at least. He did (in the Tyson fights)what other great fighters like Ali/Jack Johnson/Ray Leonard(Duran) do & that is frustrate his opponents. Although I think Tyson was bent on being not knocked out he would have still lost a frustrating decision. But in all fairness to Tyson that eye did look bad & I would have been pissed also. It could have been a medical stoppage but not Ko . Holyfield decision.

he bit him because he was getting headbutted and he lost control. That's just fact. Not excusing it in any way, but Mike didn't bite holyfield to 'get out of the fight' , like a lot of people say. He went off his rockers. Why do you think there was 100 people in the ring afterwards, and Mike was taking swipes at everybody.

Holyfield stops him again, probably sooner than the first fight. Holyfield started better than in the first fight and nothing in either fight suggests that Tyson could beat him at that point in his career.

evander had mikeys number....my mate is a good boxer and huge ttson fan, even reckons tyson would beat ali etc..etc....but even he admits holy just had mikeys number...always did, always will...2nd fight ends same way as the first without the biting....tyson has some success but starts to accept the loss and is slowly beaten down before being stopped....

OK, lets reverse, throw Holy in the slammer for four with no boxing training whatsosever , have him fight a handful of rounds against handpicked mediocre opposition and then have him face a slightly declining but nevertheless ACTIVE Tyson.

Your argument would stop right there, ACTIVE, no fighter no matter how naturally gifted or talented will regain the same form (especially timing) after years of layoff with no practise due to incarceration. Fact. One would be lucky to get 60 % back.

So, your statement of always will, has , would etc does not hold a lot of water due the aforementioned circumstances.

good point, but I think Holyfield is actually a bad style matchup for mike. I dunno who would win prime for prime ,but I probably wouldnt' bet against tyson.

Anyway, back on topic - the answer to this question is really none of the above, because had tyson not bitten holyfield, the fight would've ended in some other type of disqualification, because mike was pissed off. He would of done something else. Holyfield had been headbutting him for 2 fights straight , resulting in a cut for the second time in a row. That's gotta make someone a little angry. I don't think I'd bite anyone for it, but seriously, the facts are what they are.

i truly believe holyfield would have beaten a prime tyson.....im not knocking mikey boy, im a huge fan, but i just think holy's attributes, huge heart, great chin, workrate, desire, ability to brawl when he has to, constant pressure, is a stylisitic nightmare for tyson....ie, he has his number......but again, its one of those who wins, ali or benn grim type queastions..it never happened so we will never know.....
