Can anyone tell me whether this fella is any good? Just seen his record (28(20)-0) and he beat Stuart Elwell (Kell Brook's next opponent) but I see he's only boxed out of Eastern Europe once and made his debut in 2002. Are there any plans for him to step up?

Thanks

As far as I know right now he is over there in the USA training with some stable mates in L.A.

Senchenko is an excellent fighter with a classy defence.Sorrowly,I have only seen two of his fights up to now.I very much hope that he will soon showcase his skills either in the USA or in Germany!

I read that he might face Nuzhnenko next for his WBA "Regular" belt.

Any thoughts on how this fight would play out?

I for my part favour Senchenko over Nuzhnenko.Well,I probably want him to win that upcomming battle of undefeated top fighters.
:DI am a little biased.

Ive seen Senchenko a couple of times an have been quite impressed. I think his style is more appealing to the common fan, so i hope he wins.

Since we're talking welterweight prospects...what do we make of Selcuk Aydin, the Turkish fighter?

Seems to have some pop in his fists, a crowd pleasing and judge pleasing style (in his bursts anyway).

However, his footwork is best described as "plodding". He also spends a lot of time covering up like his fellow German based Abraham and not enough throwing a jab. In short, he needs to seriously work on cutting the ring off.

Who do we think is the best welterweight prospect coming out of Europe? Bonsu, Senchenko, Nuzhnenko, Petrucci, Brook or Aydin?

Come April 10th you will see that happen.

In the pro ranks Senchenko has never fought someone near the level of Nuzhnenko.

All of his opponents were handpicked (including Klose, who was thought of as a has been but in fact came some seconds short of stopping Senchenko in Donetsk last year, while Nuzhnenko beat Klose comfortably on points on Frenchman's home turf). After the fight with Senchenko Klose told that he considered Nuzhnenko much stronger fighter between these two.

Secondly, Nuzhnenko is a seasoned, tough fighter. He was in some gruelling fights with Nesterenko, Bakirov, Garcia, and despite beeing cut, he delivered it every time thanks to his enormous will and courage. Senchenko is in disadvantage in this compartment. He is less psychologically strong comparing to Nuzhnenko, as Senchenko is very often at loss when he is being pressured in the ring.

Thirdly, as far as I know, Nuzhnenko holds a winning record vs Senchenko in amateurs. I know that it is all different in the pros, but still this should tell you something.

In order to win, Nuzhnenko has to stay away from straight rights and liver punches coming from Senchenko. And in my opinion, he is quite capable of doing so, and he will get the tiring Senchenko out of the ring in the late rounds.

Well, both Senchenko and Nuzhnenko beat French toughman Klose in close fights.Klose is the best scalp in Nuzhnenko's collection, and so he is in Senchenko's one.
Nuzhnenko doesnt play in a different dimension. This upcomming encounter of two undefeated fighters can really go either way.I for one surely dont call Senchenko the underdog in their fight.
May the better man be victorious!:good

Watched the fight tonight and was mildly impressed by Senchenko, showed some decent skills and outboxed Nuzhnenko without too much trouble.

Will lack the power to mix it with the top guys but will be looking forward to seeing him again

I aint gone nowhere.

What's that which makes you laugh? Guess you got your prediction right... If so, good for you.

That was a close, evenly matched fight. At the end of the day I had Senchenko winning this fight on a close decision. I will not go overboard if I say that this was the best fight in Vyacheslav's career. He was prepared for everything Yuri had to offer. More importantly, in this fight he showed good stamina and physic, which were under concern after his latest fights (more obviously in Klose fight). Also, good for Senchenko, he could keep his emotions in check, carrying out the pre-fight game plan with great accuracy and precision.

Good fight overall and good win for Vyacheslav. Even though there are some calls for a rematch on the part of boxing fans, I doubt this will happen. At least not in forseeable future. If this was up to the fighters, they would give it a go, but they are not the ones who pull the plug.

Looking into the perspectuve, I think that Yury will rebound from this decision, and he should have a couple of chances in his career, fighting for the titles (EBU or another shot at world level). This recent fight does not take anything away from him as a fighter's worth. Solid pressure fighter that always comes to fight, mentally tough fighter.

It will also be interesting to follow Senchenko progress from now on. I think his team will go for an optional defence on his home turf, trying to set up a big money fight abroad in the process.

Nah, no offence at all. :rasta ... Your earlier prediction was so peremptory. I watched Senchenko fights versus Nowak and Elwell and he looked good. It was easy to notice his skills even against sub-par opposition. Nuzhnenko, on the other hand, was a mysterious figure for me but his fight vs. Garcia was really bad. He wasn't a winner by no means in that fight and then struggled greatly against limited Kurbanov.

I hope he will bounce back as well. He deserves it.

Anything known about Nuzhnenko's next fight?
