Did find it already posted, but in any case.. The Big Ape got Alexander Zimin for a trainer now - who now also trains Bahtin.

Probably a good move.

He should take McGirt.

Hope Valuev has better luck. I don't know why so many people here shit on him. He NEVER talks shit and NEVER says he's the best. My guess is it's his nationality and skin color... :-(

Yes, but he was motivating. Did you see the way he yelled at that big Goof, v Chagaev? He yells, motivates, and knows his shit. If it wasn't for him, Valuev would have never become a champion. Hes a great trainer. Bad move for Valuev in my opinion. This guy is a great trainer, hes just a underate, witch is bull imo. Valuev, go back son. Don't leave your roots!

Emanuel Steward could probably help Valuev

But Steward has better things to do than work with Valuev!

Heard Don King wanted to hire a midget to be his trainer. King thought it help draw bigger audiences.

That would be hellarious to see a midget screaming at Valuev between the rounds.

Valuev is Steward's dream fighter. Boring, pawing jab, huge, and prone to holding.

Jokes aside, it's a match made in heaven.

I don't much care for him because he's a sign that the division isn't in great shape--reminds me too much of K-1. As a person rather than a boxer, though, I'd agree with your assessment. Valuev seems a nice enough guy.

Zimin is a famous trainer for lightweights and middleweights. He is trying to teach Valuev some skills. Apparently Valuev is a smart man and a good learner, but I am not sure that his shortcomings (mainly slowness) can really be overcome with a trainer who would try to teach him to box like a lightweight

What were all those interviews where valuev was saying his trainer was like family, this that. One close loss and he drops him. WTF!

I used to really give it to Valeuv because I thought he was a skilless freak show, I did not like watching him and his tw biggest wins were questionable.

But he is just a guy trying to fight and make to most of his career, and he has always seemed a pretty, humble and respectful dude.

Part of me hopes he goes away but if keeps winning because he is the better fighter, which has happen in the vast majority of his fights, then good for him and his fans, I got no reason to keep on with the hate.

You are too harsh on Valuev, hrak!

He hasnt dropped his old Armenian coach entirely. He is still in the boat. However,he isnt Valuev's headcoach anymore-at least officially.
And don be naive,hrak!
Valuev used to fight on a very small fight cards in Russia or on the undercards all over the world.
Since he signed a pro contract with powerful German promoter Sauerland he has become a regocnisable name in quite a lot of countries, has earnd big bucks, and has had some very big fights.Money is the name of this game.
I am quite positive that Valuev would never have changed his coach if he hadnt been forced to do so.
Sauerland and his underlings are in command of the boat.Valuev isnt the captain, just another member of the crew.
