The camp of Ricky Hatton is not fooling around when it threatened to pull out of a proposed May 2 showdown with Filipino fireball Manny Pacquiao.
The fighter’s father, Ray, who also serves as his manager, told The Guardian yesterday that Hatton has a solid Plan B in case the fight with Pacquiao goes down the drain.
"We have the offer of another massive fight in the summer, in the British Isles, which would bring a crowd of 80,000 or more," Hatton told fight scribe John Rawling after learning that Pacquiao hasn’t put his name above the dotted line.
"We are extremely serious in our threat that we will pull the plug on Pacquiao and go for that alternative if that contract is not signed. We will not be messed around," the senior Hatton added.
Hatton’s people, including his promotional outfit Golden Boy Promotions, are firm that their boy and Pacquiao split the earnings equally even if Pacquiao is boxing’s pound-for-pound king since it is the brash Briton who brings the money to the table.
Hatton’s lawyer Gareth Williams said if it’s not 50-50 and Pacquiao insists on 60-40, the fight – set for the MGM Grand in Las Vegas – will not take place.
Hatton is coming off a sensational showing against Paulie Malignaggi, a New Yorker who, ringsiders thought would give Hatton a taste of hell during their Nov. 22, 2008 battle.
In the end, it was Malignaggi who received a horrifying beating from Hatton, who is unbeaten at 140 lbs, the weight class he and Pacquiao are being groomed to face off.

No nonesense talk from the Carpet Fitter here. Basically saying 'balls t'Pac if he doesn't accept 50/50.'
I still think this fight will be made though. Too much money for both fighters to miss out on.
