I have a few questions for those who did catch the fight:
1. How tall is Victor Ramirez? Alexeev is 6'2, was Ramirez close to his height?
2. How would you describe his style?
3. Can he make some noise in the cruiserweight division?
Lets hear your thoughts
1. Victor Ramirez was listed at 6', heavy bulit.
2. He was covered, bobbing & waving, closing the distance. He was trying to back Alexeev on the ropes and he had some good moments. He relied on heavy punches, mosly wild.
3. It is hard to say only from 1 fight. I guess he is not that good. Maybe Alexeev was not ready to go many rounds. He usually goes 2-3 rounds.
I do not know. I was really shocked. I have seen most of the Alexeev's fights and have had big expectations.

A bigger version of Hugo Garay with a little bit more pop in his fists.
Well,I had never seen him fight neither on tv nor live before he fought Alexeev so that I can only comment up to a certain extent.
He attacks like a raging bull, relatively slow, decent defence, pop in his fists, quite one-dimensional,not the most versatile fighter out there, tries to overpower his opponent, iron chin, mentally tough, good stamina, very average jab, tries to impose his will on his foe, ready to go to war in the ring.
All in all he is a good and durable boxer, but lacks the special bit of magic to haul his top rivals at cruiser weight over the coal.
Alexeev was way ahead on points at the time of the stoppage.
He was the wrong opponent for Alexeev at this stage of his career.
Alexeev's stable mate Kuziemski would probably have outboxed the tough Argie quite easily.
No,dont get me wrong! I dont think that Kuziemski is really a better fighter than Ramirez, but the Pole's style would be a nightmare for Ramirez.
Ramirez has too many limitations which will be exposed when matched with an opponent who has the wrong style for him.
However,he would give Adamek a hell of a fight due to their styles.
