Finnish middleweight Amin Asikainen announced yesterday in Finnish media that he will continue his boxing career. In his interview for MTV3 sports news he was estimating that he would be back in ring in the spring 2009. He also said going up in weight class is under consideration but that first he would return as a middle weight since he still is in decent position in the rankings despite of his loss to Ghoren Gevor Nov 28 last year.
Conisdering his lack of punch resistance I don't think moving up in weight would be a good idea. The talent at SMW is deeper than at MW right now.

Good point,nbt!
Very carefully matched Asikainen may still be able to make some noise at middle weight.I somehow doubt it though. He cant take a good punch. Both Sylvester and Gevor are not the biggest puncher out there at middle weight.
On the other hand there are not that many fighters at middle weight who can beat him.
