Winnable fight, not the direction I would be looking in though.

Why hold two dodgy titles?

I would have liked to see him give Truscott a rematch, like he said he would after their fight, but can’t knock him for going for a Euro title shot.

:good It's the EU belt but would get him a good ranking for the proper Euro belt.

What does the EBU-EU belt actually get you?

A top 10 in the proper EBU rankings?

Obviously the proper EBU nets you a top 15 WBC rankings - looking ahead....

On second thoughts.....

This fight probably isn't that bad. His record would suggest he is very beatable. Having said he would give Truscott a return, he will most likely be out for a spell and may fancy a tune-up/a body to warm up on (lets get it right!), whilst Appleby/Lindsay may have a rematch or be mandated to face somebody else.

Looking good at 126lbs over here now :good

her is a question ...if you held the :

EBU belt (like arthur did)

:think

Possibly, but until you also claim the intercontinental titles it'll always be questioned

I've got his fight against Michael Hunter on tape but don't remember anything about him to be honest. Looking at his record Simpson can beat him.

It is only possible to hold one of those belts at a time, the undisputed European champion is the EBU holder.

EBU-EE means external European Union(so in Europe just not the EU), the fighters do have to be European though and it's mainly contested by fighters from the former USSR.

It seems every few weeks people confuse the EBU and the EU titles......

The advantage of holding the EU title is like that of holding an International/Intercontinental belt, it helps move you up the rankings and often if you make several defences you will become mandatory.

However unlike International/Intercontinental belts, the EU belt has its own rankings and most of the ranked fighter are already ranked by the EBU, you just usually get a few extra fighters at the bottom of the rankings who aren't good enough to be ranked for the full European title.

i was bored earlier and emailed the EBU and they confirmed you vcould only hold one belt.i dont think they seen the funny side ... but you have to admit it would be brilliant .
