Emmanuel Steward had some pretty bad things to say about him as a trainer when he co-worked with him, with Wladimir Klitschko.
Although it's too late now before the McCline fight, do you think Vitali Klitschko could use a better trainer ?

Fritz is a good trainer. Manny probably didn't like that he didn't have supreme command when he was working with Fritz; from all I know Fritz is an excellent conditioning coach and Manny has to have a huge ego.
The success he had over the years tells you that he is a top level trainer. Wlad was imo a better fighter in terms of technical diversity when he was with Sdunek, now with Steward he uses like three punches - jab, straight right and an occasional left hook. Trainers like fighters have different styles, the Steward trademarked Jab'n'Grab may work well for Wlad but wouldn't be ideal for Vitali imo.

I agree that Vitali's style is unorthodox and is best not to be changed, especiallty at this high age.
About Wladimir, Steward did do a great job of improving his footwork and his right hand seems more accurate and unpredictable.

Probably some self-promoting, ego stroking bullshit. He turned Wlad into a big octopus. At least with Sdunek Wlad was an offensive machine; he was sure a lot more fun to watch back then. If he could incorporate some of Steward's stuff like the clinching and pacing with his old offense a bit, he'd be a lot better off I think.

Most of his fighters love and adore him. Kovács and Erdei said that he is/was like a second father to them. Michalczewski also held him in the highest regard and never wanted to work with anyone else. Just look at how many champions came out of his hands! IMO he's one of the most successful trainers in Europe - that should answer your question.

I'll say this. Wladimir was completely unprepared to face Sanders. Sanders is a southpaw with fast hands and power. When an orthodox fighter who jabs and throws lots of straight rights versus a southpaw, the most important thing to remember is to always move left. That way you stay out of the range of the quick straight left (which a jab or straight right leaves you wide open for). Wlad never moved left the entire time. He was never told to move left. Its simple advice. Notice the Vitali fight...after the first round, Vitali hardly ever does anthing but move left.
And you don't think Sdunek knows that or what are you saying? Theory and training is one thing but the actual fight, which was just a bad style match-up for Wlad especially at that particular stage of his career, is another. He was simply totally suprised by Sanders and couldn't do anything let alone execute any stategic advices

I agree with all who praise Sdunek. What I really like about him are his comments in the break. He analyzes the fight and the oponnent and tell his boxers what to do, which combination to throw or that the oponnent is dropping his arm after he throw a punch for example. Not just simply the"you-are-strong"-or- "box-clever"-shit.

Well, Sdunek was training Vitali and Wlad against Sanders. So making the trainer responsible for Wlad´s loss is a bit silly. Wlad was caught and never recovered. The only loss which i really count against him. Also, Steward trained Wlad for the 1st Brewster fight, an appalling loss.

Steward is absolutly right. It is a false from Vitali staying with Sdunek.

What Champions? They fight only in germany.
Steward trained a lot of real Champions like Thomas Hearns, Lennox Lewis.

What did Manny have to say about Sdunek?
I don't remember exactly but it wasn't pretty.
I also heard that Wlad was doing mostly strength exercises with very few boxing specific exercises. Only 4 rounds of intense sparring. I don't know if Sdunek was responsible for this however, but i think this is what bothered Steward because Wlad was still on that training program when he fought Brewster in 2004, when Steward just got to him.

Sdunek is a good trainer, no doubt. And i dont think Vitali should leave him. Never change an winning team!! To say Sdunek is not a good trainer only because hes not the absolute best or the best trainer of Wlad is nonesence bullshit!!
You heard Jisi?? Its bullshit jisi!!
