I thought he had improved and learned a lot since his loss to Steve but instead he looked worse than he already was. Damn!

Yes he did. But....
He was only looking for one big hayemaker and did not even TRY to box and let his hands go smoothly. He was waaay to wild and reckless. That was not boxing what he did but more like an ugly streetfight. He was so incredibly wild:nut

Kind of the opposite you would expect from the way he was beat against Cunningham. He will never learn and always stay the same very limited fighter he was.

Huck is a brawler.

Doesnt mean he wasnt impressive, his resume is getting to be very good looking indeed.

very unusal knockdown

2 fighters deciding to lead with a right uppercut`s delivered from there bootlaces and first to land wins.

He looked ok,he knew he could take the guy out when he wanted so it was no kind of test for him.You cant blame Huck though the guy was a late sub and Marco beat what was in front of him.

It's true that he did what he had to do. And maybe to some the result on itself was impressive.
But HOW he did it was so damn ugly imo. The opposite of what I expected after he and his team promised improvements after the loss.

The knockout was good. Right uppercut right on the chin.

You are right to say that Huck hasn't added a lot to his arsenal. He is still a forward two-handed brawler who doesn't incorporate a jab. But he's also a strong kid with power who is certainly a world-class Cruiser and a contender.

It was a test, the other man had a jab, taht he stopped using for some odd reason. That first round Huck got so dominated I thought he'd be out by round 5. He'd looked like shit when the other guy butchered him in sparing last year...and Huck was afraid.
They should tape his right hand to his face and jsut make him spar with his jab and hook off the jab.

That stupid slow push jab of his, not as bad as his stable mate's ...but he's a one armed fighter....and only a right hand don't win up in the big boys....a left jab, hooker could though.
If he could jab, he'd be dangerouse.

I like watching Huck. He needs to learn how to jab. Any of the decent boxers will beat him at present.

He will never learn. The boy has about 25 fights under his belt including a couple of title fights and defences. If he couldnt learn to use his jab so far he wont do it in future. Me thinks, Huck is as complete as he can get under Wegener. They train day in and day out on stuff like that, but when Huck gets into the ring he relapses to his old pattern. Somehow it worked for him until he met Cunningham.

I agree, this is prime Marco Huck right now.

A change in trainers might, and only might, make a difference.

He's still young, but he can pack a punch so he is a danger in the division. That was one hell of an uppercut!

Right now i would think he is European level at best, i dont know if he could beat any of the beltholders..

I would like to see him in there with Ramirez

Yes, Huck is no boxer. But boxing would be boring if there were only boxers out there!
His next fight will be against Ex-WBA champ Firat Arslan who stylewise should be Hucks nightmare: Arslan is a counter-puncher with excellent defensive skills. If Huck does not manage to take the fight to Arslan and to score constantly with accurate blows, he will be beaten by Arslan on points.

Yep! Good analysis, rick! I think so ,too.

Arslan can take a good punch.Huck can punch a little bit,but I for one wouldnt call him a big puncher.
Arslan's stamina is excellent-Huck ran out of gas against Cunningham in the later rounds of their encounter. He was out of puff at the end of his fight with Tokarev as well.
Huck has to score with good shots throughout his entire encounter with Arslan trying to hold him at bay and not letting him dominate the pace of the fight.
Very interesting fight. I will bet my money on Arslan, but I very much hope that Huck will be victorious over the ancient German based warrior.
Arslan is an old geezer. He doesnt have no future. The same cant be said about Huck.

Wow, I've never considered Arslan a counterpuncher or seen him apply any sort of defense other than keeping his hands up from time to time. He doesn't move his head, doesn't move laterally, and doesn't slip punches at all. He grinds forward and looks to outwork his opponents from what I've seen. I suppose if you consider offense to be defense, then he has defensive skills.

I think your analysis of the outcome is probably on, though. Huck has to be avoid being outworked. If he's active, he has the other advantages.
