Russian TV will televise whole card, but other countries... dont know.
It is being promoted by Sauerland so it will be carried on German TV and most likely across Europe.
It can be viewed online, some of us already know the site but people have to PM to ask for it we just cannot put it up here or else the server will be too slow.

Most likely, Sauerland is the promoter.
It seems that it is not listed in ARD TV schedule.

Larry is potentially the best technical boxer Alex has faced..
It is a very important one..
If he wins impressively he will start to demand bigtime respect from TV companies and Promoters.
Alexander Povetkin is now fringing on top ten status....
He is way beyond where Ruslan and Peter was at the same time in thier careers..
He is also very comfortable in with the type of competition he is facing..
Barrett in hindsight may have just been a fight..
Donald may prove more tricky ........ Very good selection by Sauerland.

"From Saturday on we're gonna chase for Klitchkos," promises promoter Kalle Sauerland. "Alexander is the coming star in HW. He will beat them all."

Lets wait and see how he fares against cagey old vet Donald!
I am glad that Povetkin picked the most competent promoter out there.
Unlike King or Kohl or whoever Sauerland has the skills and connections to turn even limited fighters into household names in Germany.
Sauerland 's very limited young heavy Dettweiler is probably better known in Germany than Kohl's champ Chagaev.
IMO Sauerland does a great job.Povetkin has the support of a very capable team.

100-90 x3, we need more details though. Did Povetkin look good down the stretch, how did he respond to incoming fire, how much damage did he do to Larry?
MrMagic
06-30-2007, 02:02 PM
Povetkin looked good, he threw combinations, throwing lethal body punches and is one of these heavyweights that responds when getting hit by hitting back, I am pleased with his performance it was really good.
Povetkin will make a good heavyweight champion.
MrMagic
06-30-2007, 02:04 PM
He was throwing combinations, four or even five punches.. body, mixed up and looked very sharp, he hit Donald with many shots.
Donald looked to either stay on the outside and jab, or on the inside tying him up.. not trying to exchange, and when they did exchange Povetkin had the much better accuracy. As I said in the last post, Povetkin responded to the punches kind of like Morales, instantly throwing back.. looked very good.
Donald is a tough veteran, he sure can take some shots.

Yes he is destined to get hit very hard some of these days.
Therefore I think they should match him with a strong puncher before the title, just for him to taste some power.

Just watched the fight.
As mentioned, the outcome of the fight was never in doubt. No Euro robbery here, I had the fight scored 100-90 myself, not knowing the outcome. Round one set the tone, with Povetkin pressing the action, landing by far the most telling shots and putting together combos nicely.
Donald looked as crafty as you would expect, it is very tough for a fighter, any fighter, to land solidly against him. Povetkin did well.
Povetkin was careful to pace himself I think, he knew that the fight could go the distance, which it did and if Donald was planning on Alexander punching himself out, he was mistaken.
No, there was no knockdowns, let alone ko, and the only round where I think Povetkin had Donald on some pretty shaky ground was round 8...and Donald was too crafty to let Povetkin capitalize.
To say that Povetkin won every round is not a stretch at all. Donald did not look all that different then he did vs. Valuev...and Povetkin did so much better than Nicolay did, for what thats worth.

Good win for Povetkin, he´s matured, first time he fought a 10 rounder, still kept the pace up for the entire route. Liked his combos, especially the short overhand right over Donlads lead hand. He couldnt drop him but then only Klitschko has accomplished this feat to date. He´ll always be more of a technically gifted work horse, doubt he´ll develop into a full bloomed puncher, but he wont need to, if he can keep up the pace, the workrate and the versatility

Yep! Very good victory for Povetkin against a fighter who is not only tough and durable ,but who can make you look bad in a ring as well.
I scored all rounds in favour of Povetkin-to be fair the first round could have gone either way.I am totally confident that Povetkin could take on most top 15 fighters right now. However,he still needs more time to be able to compete with Wlad and Chagaev IMO.
I was very glad to see him go the full distance of 10 rounds against Donald. His stamina had been a big question mark.Well, not any more.
He seems to be the complete package.
I for my part would like him see against 1 or 2 good journeymen like Sherman Williams,or.................hehe! Timo Hoffman before he takes on the upper echelon of the top heavies.

He´d demolish Hoffmann imo.
A good fight would be against Dimitrenko, I see him closing the gap and get under Dimis jab quickly, his right hook would be a good weapon against Dimitrenko, whos very upright and has a problem when he gets jumped on and forced to move backwards quickly

You are right, merry! Dimitrenko would be a very decent opponent for Povetkin, and so would be someone like Samil Sam or Oliver McCall at this point of Povetkin ' s career.
The winner of Sprott vs Skeleton would be a good choise for Povetkin ,too.

Yep! Sauerland stated in the interview after Povetkin's encounter with Donald that Povetkin's next fight will probably be in the USA.

if his next fight is in USA (October sounds about right...three months) I would expect him to take a step back in his next fight...especially if its going to be shown on TV. Make him look good, and if it is a non-American, it might create more of an atmosphere where people feel less threatened and cheer him on more. So maybe a European or African heavyweight. But, this is Povetkin so all those little gimmicks tend to fly out of the window.

Aye. It is rare for one so skilled to fight as tough as Povetkin does. Usually the skilled fighters don't risk contact. Usually the tough fighters aren’t the most skilled and have to risk contract. Povetkin is both skilled and tough. He forces his man to endure exchanges where Povetkin’s natural hand speed enables him to land hard shots to the head and body. Povektin oozes confidence. He will be the next champion, and by the looks of it a very good one at that.
