Holyfield that was in Panama said that Tom will need a nose job, because he has a very big nose

"Realmente no sé nada de la película; dice que Tom Cruise protagonizará el papel; si es así, tendrá que operarse la nariz porque la tiene muy grande", señaló.

Resurrecting the champ is a fictional story...I wonder if these other one will be biopics?

Gatti will be played by the great British comedian Joe Pasquale.

Tom Cruise would not look right playing Duran...Antonio Banderas would look much better in that role...

Tom Cruise as Roberto Duran?:patsch

I agree completely. It just doesnt make much sense. there has to be someone out there better suited to that role.

I'm looking forward to that Mickey Ward movie though.

I'd rather it be Benicio Del Toro. Cruise is a fairy. I bet Duran will be pissed.

Tom Cruise would be horrible. So would Banderas - he's 6'2" for crying out loud. Del Toro's like 6'5". John Leguizamo might make a good Roberto Duran. Wilmer Valderrama might be okay too, except he can't act.

Leguizamo is perfect. THe Mickey Ward movie is going to be my favorite movie ever, I already know it. Wahlberg was the freaking man in Four Brothers, he pretty much was Ward or Gatti in that movie!

Oy, not Tom Cruise. First off, we need a guy in his mid-twenties. Making someone look a little older is easy.

Not. Tom. Cruise.

banderas isnt 6'2

You're right - much shorter than I thought - 5'9". Maybe then, but he's still more of a middleweight than a lightweight.

tommy is 45 years old, you'd need some 1 ripe to play duran. an actor in there early/mid 30s that can maintain there youth like de caprio, matt damon
or that weener off prison break
why the hate against tommy, hes been in some pritty excellent performances, collateral, mission impossible, top gun, born on the 4th, gerri maguire, far and away ........

I don't want a recognisable 'name'. I want a solid actor who can pull off a Panamanian street urchant convincingly.

Cruise reminds me off a lot of things, but the streets of Panama is not amongst them.

I'd prefer going old school with Paul Rodriguez.

John Leguizamo played a convincing boxer but he just looks too kind to be Duran, although Duran in everyday life is supposed to be a super nice guy.

Does anyone agree all boxing movies take away a rather lot from the realism, especially when they're filming in the ring 'sparring'? Boxers are one of the most gifted athletes and it doesn't do me much good to see a 50 yr old hollywood actor beating on a legit champ.:deal

Speaking of boxing movies, Eminem is rumoured to star in a boxing movie portraying Dmitri Salita. Just curious how that will turn out.:think

Great pick to play Duran, spot on! The casting agent for this film is truly gifted.

I hope they get Carrot Top to play Sugar Ray Leonard. Oh, and Meredith Baxter Birney is a dead ringer for Thomas Hearns.

Banderas still would be perfect...he already has experience in a boxing role, and the difference between a middleweight and lightweight won't look so obvious in a movie...

I think Ali with will smith and james toney playing Joe Frazier is as good as its ever going to get as far as boxing movies! That movie was amazing.:bbb
