Sturm vs Carrera-your opinion

According to some rumour out there Sturm will probably face the Argentinian Carrera in his next title defence.

Sturm should beat Carrera. Maybe even by TKO. Carrera is tall and lanky MW. I feel he has similar problems with Amin Asikainen. He had to pull a lot of weight to make it 160. He defeated Castillejo with some illegal medicine, but got thrashed by him without it. He reminds me of Asikainen indeed: good punch, tall MW, but a bit weak and suspect chin..

Still, Carrera is a good puncher. He is an entertaining fighter with a wild style. He has the ability to deliver punches fast and sharp. But I feel his physics would serve him better at 168.

This is NOT A BAD FIGHT, by any means. There has been lot worse MW world title fights in recent years. Maybe Carrera does not deserve the shot right now, but this will be interesting fight. So I am rooting for this to happen, even if Carrera lost by KO to Castillejo in his last notable outing. What matters is quality fights, and I feel Carrera has lot more to give than guys like Ayala, Simon, Pittman... oh dear, you know...

Anyway, Sturm will win. Unless he makes some arrogant mistake. I doubt it.

Yep! I somehow doubt,too,that Carrera deserves a shot at Sturm at this moment of time,but as you have correctly pointed out Carrera has far more to offer than guys like Ayala,Pittman,Zertuche,Oral,or Rubio.
The wild Argie has pop in his fists and I for my part think that his style doesnt suit Sturm that much.
Castillejo knocked him out.Shit happens.Nevertheless,Carrera is a very good fighter with a proven track record.
He is able to upset the apple cart and dethrone Sturm in his backyard.
Sturm captured his title by dethroning an Argie fighter in a very controversial way.I watched that fight live and had the defending champ ahead on points.Who knows! Time for revenge and blood! Carrera may take the belt back home to Argentine.

Carrera´s problem is that he´s too unpredictable.

This makes times always difficult for his opponents, but also for himself.

He can do everything you mentioned, or he could be thrashed by Sturm. Even though Sturm is no puncher.

That´s what will keep Carrera as interesting figure in the middleweight mix. He is an enigma.

But honestly, Sturm beat easily the man who beat CLEARLY the man who KO´d a completely gassed Carrera.

Carrera is too wild and unpolished in this fight. And he is no Abraham, he´s tall and slim MW. Sturm is too great for him.

Sturm usually performs best when it´s a big show. This would be a voluntary defence. You never know...

Sturm and his management have choosen a certain Konji Sato(14-0) as Sturm's next opponent instead of Carrera.
Damn! An unknown Japanese rookie whose name probably doesnt sound familiar to Sato's neighbours next door.
Very disappointing selection of a foe it is!
Carrera would have been a serious test and threat to Sturm.

I also remember the 16-0 Aussie, who actually lost to STURM via crushing TKO.

I have a feeling this 14-0 Jap could actually pose a problem for Sturm.

Well, I am disappointed,vhb! Carrera is Sturm's stable mate. A fight between the known and still dangerous Argie and Sturm could have easily been staged.
Carrera has a recognisable name and a good reputation.He would have been worthy of Sturm's steel.
I have no idea whether that undefeated Jap can pose a threat to Sturm or not,but I know for sure that he doesent deserve a shot at Sturm's titel.
Sato is a nobody. We all know that a zero loss record doesnt mean shit at times.

I see this fight as a 50% chance for both guys....sturm with great defense and good jabs....and home town advantage.... while Mundine has speed and good evasion....end of the day the best work should win...however I think Sturm will win because of home town advntage and dont think Mundine can KO Sturm

But I have a feeling it will still be pushed back somehow to the fall, this organization is betraying its own regulations on a regular basis just to earn more cash...

Speaking of "regular", there's a very good example as "regular lightweight champ" (alias "interim" in my opinion) Paulus Moses should have become the real WBA lightweight champ if they stuck by their own rulebook but now they're declaring the title vacant and up for grabs all of a sudden and without any proper explanation so that this Saturday JMM and Juan Diaz can fight for it. :nut

Moses should sue their sorry asses for millions of $ the way Graciano Rocchigiani did with the WBC!

Mundine has won 2 regular world titles at SMW....it looks like whenever the WBA champ has 2 titles then he becomes super champ and the top 2 contenders slug it out for the paper title :hey
