Calzaghe revels in it. I percieve JC trying to play up to the crowd to be a bigger risk than him being overwhelmed by it.

Calzaghe's too experienced to let that get to him. If he loses, it won't be because he let the stage get to him.

It makes no difference. He is awesome at home, ruthless abroad.

It wont get to him that much. I expect him to perform well regardless where the fight is held.

He pimped slapped Manfredo Infront of 35,000 so 60,000 + will give him powa!

Joe is so relaxed about things these days, he'll take it all in his stride. One thing's for sure, the occasion will not get to Calzaghe. He's used to this and feels comfortable with large crowds. The only small worry I have about Joe is that the adrenalin will be pumping and he might do something rash quite early... but then again, he's learnt that particular lesson I think.

I think the more relevent question will be how Kessler handles a massive hostile crowd away from his comfort zone. If he can handle this, he can handle anything.

Kessler don't seem to worry about fightin in Cardiff, the ring is the same, and i dont think it will influence on he's game. He's so cold so wacth out Calzaghe!

We don't know this for sure. It'll be interesting to see how he deals with it.

didnt joe cry before the lacyfight! im not sure but i think someone talked about it being told in his book? if so, wasnt that because of lack of confidence/nerves?

there was an incident whilst training for the lacy fight where he damaged his hand and apparently broke down, then his dad laid into him and told him something along the lines of 'you'll be forever known as a ducker if you drop out of this fight'.

ok , but why did he cry then?Because it was such a pointless fight.

Or maybe it is just good to cry.

The obvious paralel is the huge crowds. 60,000 is not too disimilar to 35,000 in the same stadium.

It says in the book that he struggled to make the weight for the Bika fight more than any other - the fight really didn't interest him and he had a tough night.

but u must agree that it must be a difrent thing going confident into a manfredo u know wouldnt beat u in a mill years, and going in to a kessler fight were u know u will face a top contender and maybe face the worst oponent in your career. both infront of a very big crowd of people who expect u to destroy the other guy?!

I very much doubt fighting Kessler will phase him more than any of his other fights. Why would it?

its no secret that the winner will be facing the possibillty of making VERY big money so that could be on reason ,but ok we wont know until they are in the ring, so we will just have to wait and see who gets most affected of the hole cirkus

I doubt either boxer will get much more money for any future fight than this.

My hope is that we all will have a great night in Cardiff, if Calzaghe wins
i'll cheer him, bc then he will be damm good, i've seen a lot of boxers and Kessler is the real stuf. My hope is that you will feel the same when Kessler wins, and then we will have a great party in Cardiff. How is the beer in Cardiff?

I fear a revisit of Hagler-Minter here.

Kessler better come prepared for the aftermath of a potential knockout.

the big danger in this fight is that with 60,000 calzaghe fans making a huge din every time he throws a punch , that kessler`s work is overlooked by the judges.

ala ottke in germany, only had to throw a punch and the german crowd went wild, even if it missed, calzaghe is going to be roared on , making kessler having to be very dominant in 7 rounds to get the nod.

They should put on ponchos like Hatton and PBF, now that would be funny and non offensive to everybody in the arena.

I'd laugh real hard if that's the excuse people will use for Calzaghe is he loses, how ironic that would be.
