When i work out in general i usually use virgin coconut oil instead of regular oil. I hear it is better.

The pro's use it when fighting
think vaseline is one of the best things to use if you just amature for value for money and to stop infections, but dont think you really need to buy any to be honest.

A few guys at my gym use that. It's Vaseline, petroleum jellys just the technical name.

Oil up the body ??????
Vaseline, sometimes in sparring sometimes without. Am pretty sure the amatuers in Scotland few years back, no vaseline was to be used in bouts ? Maybe GPater knows a bit more on this.
I remember a guy in Glasgow telling me he got around this by using oil on his face regularily. That what you mean ?

haha what?
For sparring?
I know some guys smoke a lil hash oil before they show up for sparring...but they tend to gas out quickly, laugh alot then head for the snack machine.

For sparring we used to just use vasoline but I haven't seen it in the gym for a few months now.
When I wanted to cut more water weight, I used to use Abolene, a makeup remover.

I shave my chest and oil up my entire body. I prefer sparring topless, so I like to look beter for the trainer and/or other boxers.

I'm just irrisistable. Yesterday I was doing padwork with my experienced trainer, Charlie Zelenoff, and he just kept clinching. My previous trainer never used to do this, and he said I hit 700 pounds with my hook. I asked Charlie Zelenoff why he kept clinching, and he said he was "working it bro". Is this normal for your trainer to do that?
That depends what he was clinching on to :D
Post Scriptum: $.02 can you stop creating these dumb threads? While mildly funny they have shit to do with boxing or sports in general. The only reason I'm letting this one go is because people actually gave serious answers before I saw it. Hardening your knuckles, body oil before sparring, I mean what the fuck.

I use one with a nice citrus-y smell. I usually ask my partner to help oil me up. It's a good way to make friends. Sometimes, we forget to spar.
