Hi everyone!
I´m just curious as a trainer. How much do you spar each week or each training. How many rounds?
Do you have special days when you just spar and then do skipping and go home?
We usually spar 4-5 rounds in each training session.
Look forward to your answers

8 a week normall
4 every time il at the gym
before a fight about 12 or 14 a week
Last week I did close to 40 rounds, but that was a bit extreme. Although I think the next few weeks will be similar, my training will mostly be sparring.

I don't think I'll answer this question.

Please do. I'm guessing it's about what I did last week, perhaps a bit more. 10 rounds a training is not impossible so it's probably between 40 and 60 a week, am I right?

No more than 2 times a week and no more than 12 rounds in one week, I have not sparred in over a year, to many injuries and for a guy who is just keeping fit, it is just not worth it any more.

well, I do regular training days and if we do sparring on those days it would be 5 rounds. But I do set aside one day just for sparring and what I like seeing is 6 to 9 rounds on the bags and 5 rounds of sparring at 3 minutes each round.
regular training days for boxers would consist of 9 rounds on the bags and 3 rounds on the coaches mitts. For a beginner maybe just start with 6 rounds for a bouple weeks, then boost it up to 9 rounds combinining both mitt work and bag work. Then for competition level your running around 11 X 3 minute rounds combining bag work and mitt work.

Not had much sparring the last week. Too few boxers around here. I've had maybe 30 rounds, but only with novices. Maybe I'll do some rounds with my trainer tonight. And tomorrow a heavyweight will come over and spar some. In two weeks I'll get good sparring with the national team.
I do all my morning sessions alone.
Btw man, do you have Facebook? :D

Also what I do, is if I have a guy going for a title fight, I try and trade out a fresh guy every round.

I spar about everyday I train, which is usually 4-5 days a week, typically 5 rounds a session, so maybe 20-25 rounds per week.

One of my trainers is very creative with stuff like that. Last week he had me (light welter) and a welter team up against a (very good) super middle. We weren't allowed to attack simultaneously, we had to take turns on his command. He wasn't allowed a breather that was the point of it :)

The amount of sparring which you need to do will depend on which stage you are at in your career. Older guys need more sparring time, young guys need more drills. It is with the drills that you program yourself with the right instincts. Once you have accomplished that, then you merely need to sharpen up with sparring. When it comes to sparring quality is much more important than quantity. There is no point in having sparring partners who are too easy to hit.

You guys must be like the next olympic team or something... 30 rounds a week... shit. My fight team spars every Sunday after class, which I just got home from. Which we do about 5 rounds each. Then me and a buddy normally meet up earlier in the week to spar, say about 6 rounds, give or take one. Then on Friday during fight practice we all do controlled sparring, you know, working on specific things, like defending against the straight and so on, probably about 10 rounds but at an easier pace.

Prolly bout 8-12 a week, its not always easy finding people who want to spar after training, lot of people on time restraints or just lazy!

we usally do 5-8 rounds two times a week. On friday we have independent training, wich means we sparr as much as we want. On a good day we go 10 rounds

Last night 12 rounds. Depends on how many are there really. Fridays are usually our busiest sparring days, but last night we just had a lot people there to switch it up.
While I think there is no substitution for good sparring, I emphasize the 'good' part. Right now I don't have many quality partners to go, so while staying in great fighting shape, am likely picking up bad habits in the process.
