How did Chagaev look in his latest fight? I know he won, but that is all.

a little slower on his feet. that's about all i could notice. not a shock coming off such a severe injury. the cut fucked everything up though. he threw the left well and with conviction but he just doesn't have the power imo to compete with the KLITS.
also his right hand is still very weak and something the KLITS would exploit.

my opinion of him doesn't change at all. solid fighter with an awkard style but limited offensive arsenal. drummond offered nothing at all except an occasional right hand.

i have a bad feeling his cut may put him on the shelf again :patsch
im not a fan of his at all..but i think everyone would cheer for him against valuev. we just need to see the wba belt in the hands of someone else besides valuev, chagaev, ruiz if u ask me.

i am hoping vitali get his shot at chagaev (assuming he beats the giant fraud) later in the year. let's hope the wbc doesn't enforce that ridiculous maskaev mandatory. what a joke that is. vitali straight up murders that poor bastard

He looked just ok. I thought his timing was good, but not a lot offensively other counter left hands. He just wasn't very active, although in fairness I think the cuts bothered him.

Drummond had a good first minute of the third and ripped him with a good right hand and uppercut. Chagaev's face looked like "I can't believe you just hit me with that." That said, the cuts were severe enough to stop it, and he clearly won 4 of the 6 rounds.

Ruslan needs to heal up and stay active. Hopefully by summer he's back in the ring. The skills are there but I'd take another Drummond level fight before another title shot.

He didnīt look too good in his last two fights. If he fights like that with a Top10 ranked HW he is in serious trouble. He was slower, less agressive and not too selfconfident in that fight...

The bar certainly has been lowered if this dude is a so called "World Champion".

He looked like a guy coming off a long layoff due to a serious injury. It is going to take him a little while to get back up to speed.

I think he looked bad against Drummond, he is certainly much more estatic than before, just don't know if it's a temporary condition or if Chagaev suffered a physical setback.

I think he pushed it and came back too early, usually injuries like that take a year rehab.

He looked okay like expected by his injurybackground and his return to the ring. Drummond was dangerous at moments and Chagaev was good at some moments and a bit less good as normal at most moments.

From his what probably will be his maximum moment in the Valuev figth he looked bad.He was slow,he was flat footed,he looked more flabby than usual etc.But Drumond ain't that bad of a boxer and Chagaev hasn't fought in over a year so.....but on the other hand he looke bad with Skelton too.

Man, I really want to like Chag. Storied amatuer career. Undefeated as a pro agaisnt some good competetion. Good southpaw counterpuncher with real skills. Iron chin.

And it sure looks like he has some power on occasion, but it is rearely seen. Is it because he has hepititis, numbness or blindness? Is he just not after all that powerfull?

So with Chagaev failing to recapture his best form, and Boystov still not ready for prime time, will Ibragimov have the best chance of the three at winning a title?

Ibragimov vs Valuev. I'd pay to see that one.

What about Povetkin?

Chagaev already has a title. He is coming off a bad injury, you have to figure it will take some time to shake off the rust and get back up to speed.

Chagaev looked slow, overweight, low power. Bad performance as Chagaev never had Drumond in trouble. 58-56 is ok, 60-54 is not.

Intersting. Was Drumond better than the typical unknown fighter with a suspect but still perfect record?

u talking about drummond :think

he looked so tentative. he had that eye completly busted open and refused to throw punches. he let a great opportunity go. he landed that big uppercut in the 3rd round and basically refused to follow it up.

looked like a strong guy but his gameplan was shit. how do u expect to win by running?

not a guy i expect to see anywhere near the top

He didn't look that good, just ok. Would surely loose against the Klitschkos! But I think that he would repeat the win against Valuev.....

A man of Chagaev's style never lasts for too long in boxing

Chagaev has good skills, tactics and cleverness, but not the physical attributes to stay on the top of the division: Short, plump, many injuries, many health problems (eyes).
