When a fighter (whether professional or amateur) wants to lose weight before a fight do most of them just take laxatives, exercise like crazy and lose a bunch of water weight? Or do the train naturally without using laxatives? Or do they use a combination of both good training/exercising methods coupled with laxatives? I know that not all fighters have the same methods for making weight: Gatti used to lose 15-20lbs before he would weigh in & then gain it back before a fight.... But guys like hopkins and Hagler usually maintained a 'walk around weight' that was close to their fighting weights. I don't really know anything about the subject... Thoughts, comments.....

It's always best to stay within 5 pounds or so of your fighting weight. Americans as is don't get enough fiber in their diets so extra fiber I guess wouldn't hurt but all laxatives do is dehydrate you.
