whats your thoughts.
No. Not unless Mayweather loses and even then No. Pac has beaten top opponents over a long period of time, as with Hop, so they would be next in line. And this is coming from one of the biggest Cotto fans on these boards.

Nah....especially with the fighters ahead of him who are fighting top notch opponents.
Look at it this way. If PBF beats Hatton, he beats a top 10 caliber fighter. He stays #1. If Hatton beats him, he has now beaten 2 fighters in the top 5 p4p when he fought them. He would be ahead of Cotto.
If Taylor beats Pavlik, his list of victories would be well ahead of Cotto's.
Calzaghe beating Kessler would be huge. If Kessler beats him, his win is arguably bigger than Cotto's.
There are just too many guys fighting huge fights. I didn't even count Pacman....who is fighting someone he has already beaten, but still has a strong list of victories.

no. Pacquaio would be ahead of him. Calzaghe would be if he beats Kessler. Mayweather if he beats Hatton. Taylor would be if he beat Pavlik. there are few fighters with better resumes right now.

Nope...You can't bypass manny pacquiao who is arguably lb 4 lb # 1 in a lot of peoples books because of the opposition that hes faced and his performances in these fights..Cotto just needs to keep on Truck'n...besides lb 4 lb isn't all that important honestly. If Cotto did Mosley/Floyd/Oscar or something like that MAYBE..and that depends on what other fighters do too..
What if Cotto beats Mosley/Floyd/Oscar...But Manny beats Marquez/Valero/Guzman or some shit...Then they still both break even PLUS manny's past accomplishments still keeping him above...lb 4 lb is not that important..just keep winning thats all Cotto needs to do.

As jecxbox said no way; nor would he eclipse someone with the likes of Pacman.

Beating the ring magazines 4th best WW????...lol...don't think so.
I dont think it makes much difference really, maybe he has a better argument for being included in the top ten p4p tho.

Floyd will still be # 1 reguardless. He'll have beaten the 2nd and 3rd best guys in his weight division......abit like Mayweather beating Cotto and Williams instead of old guys.
If Mayweather did manage to do that which he will not even attempt I can imagine all the pro MAyweather fans calling him the greatest thing since Ali
what the???
not a chance....
he will move up.. sure... but i dont see how it would propel him over mayweather, especially if mayweather beats hatton,
or... i dont also see why it would propel him over hatton, if he were to beat mayweather.

This is a moot question, because Shane is going to make Cotto salsa dance when he tees off on him.
