View Full Version : Hatton to fight De La Hoya
Frank ****** says in his column today that regardless of whether he wins, loses, or draws against Mayweather, he will fight De La Hoya and then call it a day.
Big money spinner, by the time it happens I'd make Hatton favourite.

Stupid for Hatton. He should fight a real contender, not a past his prime guy who fights once a year. DLH needs to retire anyway. He had his era and made his movie. What does he have left to prove
That he can make more money losing fights than any other fighter ever did

No Matter How Past His Prime Odlh Is, I Think He Whoops Hatton!

Then Hatton will retire 43-2 with Castillo being his final win

De La Hoya would beat Hatton. The only concern for De La Hoya would be his stamina down the stretch as Hatton works well during ever round. De La Hoya loves come forward aggressors, and Hatton ain't outboxing him at long range. Those 3-4-5 punch bursts would bounce off Hatton's head all night long.

That was a fight you could anticipate. It will be huge in England.
However, I think it would be stupid if Hatton retired in 2008, in his prime.
why does he want to retire? anyone know?

after floyd gets through him he won't have a choice but to retire:lol: no one in hatton's camp is thinking ricky can win, they want to cash out against two of the biggest names in boxing

This is from ******'s column, not fact.
******'s still a bit bitter about Hatton leaving him I think so he's trying to insinuate that he's only in it for the money. It's more of a cheap shot than anything else in my opinion.

Nothing really but Collazo is a B level fighter and hurt Hatton badly when he has KO record under 50 percent plus he deserved the decision most agree. DLH is superior in many aspects of boxing then Collazo like jabbing, body punching, power punching. He will rip Hattons face apart.

DLH is now a natural 154 pounder with far more boxing skill than Hatton ever had. Hatton will not be able to take his power punches all night, and his lack of defense will surely make him bleed.
DLH KO6 Hatton

TOO BIG TO STRONG AND ALTHOUGH OLD HAS THE BETTER SKILL SET PLUS THE POWER. COLLAZO ROCKED HIM DLH GOT THE POWER TO PUT HIM DOWN AND KEEP HIM THEIR . NOT A GOOD FIGHT FOR HATTON STYLE WISE . PBF IS A FAR BETTER MATCH AS PBF POWER ISN'T BETTER THEN DLH AND HATOON CAN OUTMUCSLE PBF. I STILL THINK PBFVS HATOON IS A COIN TOSS BUT IM LEANING TOWARDS PBF FOR THE SAME REASON YOUZ REDCOATS ARE LEANING TOWARD HATTON.

Hatton isn't Gatti
Nope but it will look awfully close. His punches and pressure will do little more than tickle DLH. DLH can take anything he has got and we can't say the same about Hatton. He is much smaller and couldn't handle a contender like Collazo. DLH doesn't have the youth anymore nor the southpaw style that Collazo did, but he has the speed, power, combinations, and ring smarts to teach Ricky a thing or to. He'll have his way with him and he will soon realize the big gap in skill and size compared to his 40+ opponents.
DLH in under 10. Hatton is gonna look like he got smacked by a folding chair.

of course he's not but dlh isn't castillo. dlh will beat hatton not like he beat gatti but he will ko hatton. hatton can't out box dlh, can't bully dlh, and he can't go toe to toe so how does he win? :huh

fighting DLH he would probably go same style as the first 6 rounds of urango style except for 12

Hatton isn't Gatti
He sure isn't, but he's a come forward aggressive fighter. And Hatton hasn't got the defensive ability like Duran for example. Throughout his career, De La Hoya has always had success against come forward opponents. Not only has De La Hoya got the advantages physically in height and reach, but he's got the better skills. More adaptable, especially at disance behind the jab.
Hatton's major downfall against De La Hoya?. His style.
3-4-5 punch combinations would bounce off his nugget all night long.
De La Hoya KO inside 8 rounds.

DLH is no Urango. For one thing he is way larger, hits way harder and is about 15 levels above Urango in terms of talent and speed.

Wow so with the look at this Maybe Hatton really is ducking Cotto if Cotto were to win against mosley. That is totally sad that he'd fight Oscar and not Cotto.

Cotto isn't going anywhere. He can fight them both. Maybe Cotto could fight williams in the meantime.

i believe Gatti does have a better chin than Hatton. I doubt that Collazo would be able to come so close to knocking out Gatti like he did with Hatton.
regardless of that arguement though, Delahoya beats Hatton by way of KTFO easily.

Hattons chin is not that good, but he does recover well. You can rock hatton but you got to finish the job b/c he has some strong legs and no matter how hard you hit a guy, if his legs are strong its hard to put him on his back. Hatton was out on his feet against Collazo. I mean he was out.. He was grabbing and holding for dear life for about a minute. Collazo is not used to hurting guys let alone finishing them so he could not get it done. Though in live action I thought he was going to do it.
