Did anyone catch his fight last night? Obviously, he won, but how did he look? Was his competition any good, or just another stiff? I've never seen the other guy fight. Wife screwed up my tivo, probably intentionally (she's not a boxing fan), so I didn't get to see any of it. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

Lucero fucking sucked. I think he took a dive, to be honest. Litzau is still a KO waiting to happen.

Agree with ya here litzau does look kinda vulnerable even against garbage like lucero. dont think he took a dive though
Litzau missed two jabs, barely hit him with a right hand, and Lucero went down like Kostya Tszyu had just opened up on him. For God's sake, he ran away from Litzau and took a knee in the first round! From what?!

In the main forum page, at the top right, above the thread listing, there's a button that says "post topic".

The Mexican fought so bad , he should of been on the World Cup Team.
Afterwards , Litzau said Lucero was talking alot of trash before the fight , and expected him to put up the fight of his life.

Litzau led with his chin and threw haymakers with his fists positioned by his beltline.
Lucero wildly flailed at Litzua in the second round for about ninety seconds. Litzau hit him with something and Lucero took a knee and decided to take a ten count or something while he was down there.

lucero is the same guy that manny ko'd in three and rocky juarez in 5 i believe.....he can be a pain in the ass if he comes in tip top shape cause he's a pretty good swarmer, but it's rare to see him take a fight serious.......

Lucero wanted no part of this fight, was a disgrace to the public that guy comes in like Lucero did.
Atleast try, this fight showed nothing about Litzau, except he knows what to do when a guy doesn't even try, you take them out early.
Lucero was a decent guy, just doesn't seem to be in the game anymore mentally.

Litzau hit him in the ear/temple as Lucero ducked, throwing off his balance and leading to the ref stopping it. Lucero had no confidence and fought as if he had no intention of winning this fight.
Litzau impressed me by getting a guy he should KO out of there early, and not pussyfooting around the issue by showboating for extra rounds and taking unnecessary punishment. It looks like psychologically, he's rebounded from his KO loss a couple of fights ago. Lucero, on the other hand, should probably just hang them up and enjoy a life outside of fighting.

Exactly. His management isn't taking ANY chances now that that Grade A china chin has been exposed.
As soon as they're forced to put him in with a live body, he gets KTFO again.

I thought Lucero tried for the first 90 seconds of the second round then he just seem to say, " aw, f#(k it"

He was as usual nothing special. Lucero is completely shot at 28. When Litzau wasn't wasting time being cautious for no reason (other than to protect that china chin) he was just doing his usual sloppy off-balance lunging bullshit.

Litzau may have a glass jaw but he can punch.

That's what his bosom buddies at ESPN keep saying. What opponent with demonstrated punch resistance has he hurt?

This was a very poor FNF and they threw Litzau a doughnut:good
I was extremely disgusted with Litzau's comments who tried act as if this wasnt a BUM. I mean for christ's sake, it was a midget with no chin fighting a 5, 10 super featherweight!!!
If , Litzau couldnt beat this guy and early as he did? It would be pathetic and indicate that he's nothing more than journeyman fodder. The more I watch the "American Boy"?? The more that's my opinion of what he is, even with the win last night. Litzau will get beat and likely KO'd by the likes of Pacquiao, JMM, Soto, MAB, Valero, Guzman, Barrios.
He's been less and less impressive with each outing rather than the reverse. As he ages and goes up in weight?? My prognosis gets even worse.
Also?? Anyone else notice the occasional slurring in his speech?? It's not terrible yet, but the fact that it exists at his age, isnt sending any fuzzy feelings about what's gonna be left when the career is KAPUT:good

Litzau has alot going for him. He is very tall , with a long reach, handspeed, and punching power. Litzau has everything but a solid chin. I think can he be quite difficult to beat when he uses his size and speed on the outside ,despite his chin woes.

I thought he retired a long time ago.
Mentally, he did.

Eh, the other guy was obviously scared stiff from the onset. He spent most of the first running and ducking and hiding, and dropped to a knee from a series of glancing shots. He then came out and threw one big flurry of offense where it looked like he was just going for broke in hopes of landing something big, it didn't work, he went back to running and ducking, and then he dropped from a right to the temple and had terrible body language after getting up, prompting the ref to stop the fight.

Don't worry people - as soon as Litzau fights ANYONE even halfway decent, he will get knocked out cold, again.
When they made up the phrase "he's a KO waiting to happen," they had guys like Litzau in mind!!

What Litzau needs is a REAL trainer. Until he get's someone who can stick him to some kind of fundamental defense he'll always be open to take shots.
You guys are way too damn hard on the kid though.

If you've seen Litzau fight you'd know there is no doubt this kid has power.

I agree with you, but the thing is people don't like Litzau to the point where alot don't like to give him credit for anything. I think right now he's more overhated than overrated. I look forward to seeing who they put in there next against him.

Ya, anyone KO'd by Pacquiao is obviously complete garbage. :good
You can think that way, if you really believe in that, but which I doubt.:deal

Lucero's a quitter...plain simple. He did the exact same thing against Pac that he did against Litzau. He turned his head away ( a no no in boxing) and basically did the 'no mas' sign.
Kinda tarnishes Pac's victory but oh well.
The funniest thing about this fight was that the fight was the guest commentary by Bill freakin' Walton. You know, the Larry Merchant of the NBA.

You can't train a chin. There ain't a trainer in the world that can change china into granite!
And this over-hyped, glass-jawed shit-talker deserves EVERY bit of criticism he gets.:yep

That might help, but certain fighters are what they are. I'm having a hard time envisioning the amount of improvement that's gonna let him succeed at the elite level. His defense is just too damn open and sloppy and when he gets in the heat of it, i'll bet that's what he revert's to, Trainer or not.
Perhaps I'm being a tad harsh, but thats driven by Litzau's attempt to play that win as a solid victory. Lucero's record is padded and he lost to almost every good/decent fighter he faced and had 1 draw. Lucero's best "wins"?/ 1 comes against a guy named John Lowey in the last fight of a 13 year career and frankie Archuleta who is more journeyman fodder. So, beating Lucero isnt something to hang you're hat on or be impressed with. Especially after Pac, periera, Ponce de leon, and juarez beat him in the last four years.
Litzau beat a journeyman but there's a vast difference between that fighter and the Pac, JMM, Soto, Mab, Valero, and Guzman type fighters at the top. As he is?? Litzau poses little threat to any of those guy's IMO:good

I've seen his last several fights. He doesn't lack power; he does have halfway decent pop if nothing else going for him, but he was being hyped as a monster that he simply isn't, and was even drawing ridiculous unwarranted comparisons to Pacquiao.
