after absolutely destroying everyone he met in beijing, i wouldve expected him to have been picked up by a german promoter by now. maybe im wrong?
does anyone know what happened to him, if he's staying amateur for london, or if he's going pro?
i think he would be an absolute force as a pro :yep

In December he won the World Cup in Moscow. His goal this year is to become world champion in Milan, he stated earlier.
avk47 knows more about the situation...
EDIT: He recently underwent surgery to take care of a long-term injury. I think he's just back to amateur boxing. He really is an AWESOME boxer!

He didn't win the world cup but he did attend it. He says that now that he's won the Olympics and Europeans, he wants to complete the assortment and become world champion.

I donno, there is no problem with waiting a year to win world championships. His pro career won't be harmed if he completes the full selection of wins you can get in amateur boxing.
Selimov of Russia has been working hard though, so Lomachenko will have to get by him to win it.

Hadn't Vasyl been talking about staying amateur for 2012 anyway? His style would be even more effective with what I've been hearing may be the new scoring system.

I thought Selimov was moving up in weight?
Don't know. Must have missed that if he is. If he is than Vasyl shoud dominate his weight class. Selimov was the only guy on his level.

Sergei Vodopyanov has moved up to Lomachenkos weight division, a match between those guys is more exciting than any pro match up for me at the moment!

Damn man. Those two in the finals in Milan this year, with 3x3 and hopefully a better scoring system, could be the start of an epic rivalry.

That's awesome if Vodopyanov has moved up. Two very fast, dynamic boxers. I can't fucking wait!

He is in the 60 kg class, correct? The absolutely hilarious thing is that some ignorant American's are claiming their 60 kg representative is going to be the odds on favorite for Gold in the world's and next years Olympiad. Even though he has not accomplished jack shit internationally.
