Franklin vs Wand at UFC 99?

According to MMA Weekly both fighters have agreed to fight each other. They also claim the fight could be at catch weight of around 195lbs. Risky fight for Wand but I hope he pulls it off.

I've got Franklin by KO. But he needs to stay well away from the Thai clinch. Still, Franklin is a smart guy, if he comes in with a similar plan to Rampage he will win.

Franklin should be able to keep Wanderlei at a perfect range and pick him apart and give Silva another brutal KO loss but Wanderlei has a great chance. I kinda wish it wasnt happening another loss could seriously hurt these guys at this point it would make Franklin 0-5 vs the elite guys or Wanderlei would go 1-5 in his last 6.

This is a good match up.I don't know if Franklin has the power to KO wanderlai - but he can certainly keep him at the end of his combinations all night.

This is a crossroads for both guys if Rich loses this one he won't be getting a title shot at any weight any time soon. I thought they would give Wandy a bit of a warmup for his new weight class. This fight doesn't help either guy if it's at a catch weight, it seems Rich is in Limbo between 2 weight classes and now a catchweight?

ahh no. i knew that was going to happen 2 keith he buckles under pressure just like houston took him out. but on the other hand rich has great movement and wouldnt stand there and get bumrushed he's gonna use his footwork and circle off not letting wandy set up

point being that franklins just been flogged twice on the inside and still carrys a few mental scars.. like you said he wont stand in front of wand but movements not enough.
if you dont go after wand and engage him you wont beat him..

No thats not what i was saying. Effective counterpunching and keeping him off balance not letting wandy set up. so yes movement will be enough

I think Franklin would. He's not the type of guy to buckle under pressure. He stands up and fights. I haven't ever seen him in a boring fight I think, even against Okami, he just goes for it.

And let's be honest the first round of Wandy-Rampage would go down as boring if it wasn't for the brutal KO.

Like I said Franklin has the ring smarts to avoid those bombs from Wandy and counter effectively. And Wandy's chin is gone tbh. Franklin has more than enough power to KO him. The only thing that may be unknown yet is whether Wandy is faster at the lower weight.

Do you just really dislike Franklin or something? If anyone's chin is suspect nowadays it's Silva's, and he leaves himself open all the time. I give Silva a punchers chance in this, but I think a Franklin UD or KO is much more likely.

The catch weight says a lot I think, wand has said he wants to go to 185, but Frank Trigg said that he hasn't really done anything to get smaller, and he isn't a particuraly small 205. I read it as Wand not being able to make the jump down to 185, and I don't think he will show up looking very good since he apparantly hasn't really lost any bodyass and will just have to cut more water weight.

I dont even put him in the top 10 205 myself, I see him as a finished guy. Even Patrick Cote could move up to 205 and KO him. He is shot. It's sad.

I said hes 0-4 vs elite fighters and yes I count Anderson Silva twice cause they fought twice unless I was totally hammered the night I ordere that rematch and it really didnt happen.
