I can see the wheels in motion. Cats looking for a way not to give Hatton credit if he beat Castillo. Im not saying that Hatton will win, but if he does, we will see tons of excuse tend. Oh his Bro died, OH he was worried about not getting paid, Oh he was weight drained, and well past his prime.

Regradless to all that, if Hatton wins this fight he will have to fight and he will have to deal with stuff that he hasnt had to deal with in his career. It will be a good win.

No doubt, a prime Castillo would beat the piss out of Hatton, but he isnt in his prime, but he isnt shot. Somewhere in the middle.

Wait til you see the fight before saying stupid shit like that. If Hatton wins like he won agains't Urango he doesn't Deserve shit. If Castillo wins like he won against Corrales, he doesn't deserve shit. Period.

Both of them deserve credit and that is the bottom line. They are fighting each other, risking a loss, and risking a lot of punishment to add to their respective careers. Any boxer who steps into the ring deserves respect and deserves credit because we, as fans, are on the sidelines watching them go at it. They are the ones giving and taking punishment.

Hatton will expose Castillo. Castillo was only great at 135 because he was the bigger man. But tommorrow he will fight a man who is just as strong or even stronger than himself. Hatton is going to rip those body shots. Tie him up, wear him out. Castillo is going to feel it. I like Hatton by TKO in 8.

What the fuck are you talking about, that's their job, to step into the ring and take risks. If anything Castillo deserves the credit for taking a young undefeated up and coming young lion at this advanced (read: shot) stage of his career. Hatton deserves little credit until he takes on someone with a pulse like Cotto.

Don't get all deferent man, these guys are getting MILLIONS of dollars to go in there for a few minutes. Give me 10 million I'll fight Mike Tyson right now bare knuckle.Yeah and you will need all that money to pay the nurses that will have to wipe the droll off your chin, and clean your bed pan:-(

I love your use of 'expose'. Does loss = expose to you because I guess Floyd exposed him long ago already. And by that definition, how can you expose something that's already been exposed, that's contradicting the whole meaning of the word.

Exposed as in Castillo cant hang when he is fighting a bigger fighter. You know the textbook definition of exposed. Not the one that fanboys throw around with no meaning.

Yes it is their job to take risks, but they deserve respect as all fighters do.

I agree completely about the Castillo part. He deserves much credit for taking on an undefeated Hatton at this stage of his career.

You think Hatton is a "young lion", despite him being past his prime in numbers alone, and 42 fights into his career? Considering Hatton's style, like Henry Armstrong or Joe Frazier, he should be past it already.

And "shot" isn't close to what Castillo is. I made this point in another thread: Do you actually understand wha a shot fighter is like? Obviously not, because Castillo isn't. Past his prime? Fair enough, but he is NOT shot.

Unless of course you think Castillo s at the same stage Ali was when he lost to Leon Spinks or Evander Holyfield against James Toney. They were shot. Castillo is shopworn, but certainly has a lot left. If you had any idea about boxing, you wouldn't even think of saying something as moronic as Castillo is shot.

I probably shouldn't bother with people like you, Scurla, You out..SUCKA and all those. Fucking biased cunts. Saying Hatton is up and coming is about as bizarre a post I've ever read on ESB.

How the fuck is that 'exposed' when it's a law of nature that few can hang with a bigger fighter because obviously they have innate advantages over you.
And secondly, Castillo looks way bigger than Hatton in the weigh in pics anyway so what are you talking about have you seen them?

Hatton has those broad shoulders. Big upper body. And Hatton will come in as a Junior Middleweight come fight night. This is totally different than the Joel Casamayor's and Julio Diaz' that Castillo is used to fighting. He wont hold the weight advantage like he did at Lightweight. Hatton will expose him in that respect.

Dont know what all the bitching is about. I see a great fight here, between two guys who come to fight. Both deserve credit for taking the fight. No excuses from me, just some ice cold beer, a night on the couch, and what I think could be a burner of a fight.

The problem is so few people seem to put wins and losses into the correct perspective.

How Castillo looks, correctly so, will affect the accolades that Hatton receives for winning, if he does. The truth is though, that we aren't yet 100% sure exactly HOW much of a win beating Castillo is at this point of Castillo's career.

If Hatton beats a game strong Castillo who fights hard every round, I'm going to give him a lot more credit than if he beats a Castillo that looks old and lethargic. I mean, no one is talking about the greatness of Kevin McBride because he beat an old crappy Mike Tyson.

The truth is, I think Castillo is going to come out fighting and be a very very tough opponent for Hatton. I think there is a whole lot left in Castillo, and that he will beat Hatton. If he does turn out to be slow, weak, old weightdrained version of his former self, of course Hatton's win will not mean as much.

If Hatton beats Castillo it is a very good very telling win no matter what. Whether it is a GREAT win or a good win depends on Castillo.

They're both past their best. Castillo for all the tough fights he's had, and Hatton because he dosen't look after himself when not training.
Whoever wins, they should get full credit for their victory and not have some little forum dickheads try to sour it for them. Show some bloody respect!

You heard me. And this is the true definition of exposed. Not like when a fighter losses then you hear people talk about he was 'exposed.' Im exposing Castillo's weakness to those that dont know. Castillo looks great then he is fighting smaller fighters. He has been a Welterweight posing as a Lightweight for the past 10 years. And its about time he fights a fighter his own size. The Canadian exposed Castillo in his last fight by showing that Castillo cannot deal with a big, tough fighter. About time he gets a dose of his own medicine.

Silver
06-23-2007, 01:18 AM
The only thing exposed here has been his hatred for Castillo or simple hypocrisy, maybe a bit of both.

By the way, wasn't Cotto accused of fighting nothing but smaller men not too long ago:huhyou seem to be right. all you have to do is look at the man's resume. you cant be competitve vs. that kind of competition soley because you have a size advantage.
