barrera pretty much ended his career. it's a shame. that goes to show that he was not great b/c great fighters come back from their O.

not true all the time.
however that is a major consideration.
dude won 97 percent of his fights he shoulda jus sucked it up and fought around his kryptonite in barrea.
lacks heart.
would love to see him fight again if it isn't too late.
which at this time, with no conditioning, it is, imo.

Highly doubt he will and wouldn't like to see it. He would be humiliated like Tito against Wright.

He won another fight after Barerra, but he's still not coming back...

no chance, he lost his appetite and heart for the fight towards the end of his active career, no way he's getting it back now. still one of the finest we've produced here in the uk in the past 20 years though.

You better believe it. :yep Even if he wanted to . . . he can't. He's just too fat and out of shape at present.
Hamed had no heart and no chin. He was a farce.

I get really tired of hearing that he had 'amazing talent', a talented fighter, but give Sam Soliman one punch KO power with his workrate and footspeed/unorthodox approach and you have an even more 'talented' fighter.
I'm glad Hamed is done.

Prince Naseem was weird and hit hard. He won despite not knowing how to box, which is different from Roy Jones Jr, who made his athleticism a postive factor in any fight he was in.
The man was nothing less than a walking knockout punch, but he was also quite certainly nothing more.
Barerra beats him every time.

And JMM, who Hamed blatantly ducked.

I'd say any great complete fighter would, that is to say any fighter that does not rely on one or two monstrous qualities but rather a polished technique, good power, footwork, workrate and defense.
The shame about Hamed is that he was one of the most naturally gifted punchers there's ever been, and with proper training, character and discipline, he could have been great, but he wasn't.
He was incomplete, and even incapable inside the ring, relying on his power to bail him out time and time again.

He is about 500lbs of racist prison dodging worthlessness now. I would love to see him back in the ring but only to see him get smashed up.

Yeah, and he's 33 now which is old for a featherweight.
He sounded positive about coming back in the interviews immediately after the Barrera loss, but ultimately he lost something - faith. He truly believed he was invincible and that his God would ensure that he continued to win. After the battering from Barrera he probably couldn't maintain that illusion in his mind.

And the car accident highlighted his stupidity and delusions of grandeur. He really seemed to believe that he could get away with anything, and somebody paid a heavy price for that (the man who was basically crippled in the car crash caused by Hamed).
The fact that Hamed walked away from that crash virtually unscathed makes me wonder whether somebody was actually watching over him from above, or whether he was just plain lucky.

I don't particulary like Hamed as a man especially after the car accident but-
He had a chin. A pretty good chin IMO better than Pacs
look at the Kelly fight, Hamed paid the price for poor defence and balance/stance, caught some hard shots but was never hurt by any of the knockdowns
If Pac moves up a weight and Hamed was serious about a comeback, he could get a payday within 3 fights with PAC IMO .

Probably the case as he is only 5' 4"

bollocks. he could do amazing things against ordinary, domestic fighters. when he stepped up and fought world class fighters (like kelly, medina, mccullogh), he never looked so great. he looked ordinary. his power got him through
roy jones could do amazing, unorthodox things against world class fighters like hopkins, toney and co
And yet Hamed brutally knocked out 2 of those fighters you listed whereas Jones could not even hurt either of the greats he faced and won decsions. There goes your theory fuck head.
You have made some really stupid posts lately. Hopkins/Toney have iron/titanium chins and a p4p equivalent of any of them would absolutely own Hamed.

Good bye and good riddance to yet another over hyped fighter:yep
His routine got exposed against Barerra and he knew more of the same would come from other elites.
I'll give him this much credit, he knew when to call it quits. Anyone who actually saw his last fight against Calvo?? Saw that the tank was near empty and a totally unimpressive decision "victory" which was kindness by the judges, as Calvo gave a tired hamed a decent fight.
Good bye, loud mouth, arrogant, self-righteous, narcisscistic, midget:hi: :hi: You wont be missed by too many.

People from the UK tend to hype him more than he was. The reason for that was during his time, Calzaghe, McCollough, and Benn were pretty much the only thing hot in boxing for them. Don't get me wrong, I liked watching him, very entertaining. But based on competition quality, he was far from an ATG up until Barrerra schooled him.
