Thanks for the clip. Nice to see that awesome left hook -two of them in quick succession as a matter of fact.
I am a big Tua fan but I'm not getting too excited yet. The positives are that he came in at a good weight at this stage of his career and he looked determined and focused.
However, it was against very poor opposistion and it's no real indicator of what he can do at the elite level. I like the fact that he wants to keep busy - I hear that another fight is scheduled for two weeks time.
If he has real title aspirations he will need to make inroads into the top ten and fight someone who can get him into contention. If Holyfield can do it then so can Tua.
I'd like to see him challenge for a belt, and perhaps win one. On a side note the Abraham knockout clip was pretty good as well!

Bottom line - it's still moronic to go toe-to-toe with Tua.
I'm not quite sure why Montana didn't get the memo...

After the fight, Tua’s promoter Cedric Kushner exclaimed that his fighter will be challenging for a title within six months. Hopefully it will be against Sam Peter, after Peter beats Maskaev. As for now, Tua’s next fight will take place on September 9 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan against a yet-to-be-named opponent.
:rofl :rofl :rofl
Maskaev-Peter > Vitali > McCall > Tua (2010)

Grevor was fighting like an idiot and got knocked out. Go figure. I mean you go wailing away at a guy when you have no power skill etc etc and leave yourself open to be countered without even thinking of a counter punch. Then 9/10 times you will get knocked out. Does not impress me that much b/c it was about as an easy knockout punch to land on a guy. I mean the guy was literally asking to be knocked out by any puncher let alone a counter puncher that can fight backing up like abraham.

i'd like to see Tua v Peters....guaranteed good fight. None of this jab and grab shite that Wlad does.
I'd liked to have seen Tua v Tyson about 5 years ago.

Tua is an awesome puncher but against the better boxers the he's like a bomb without a delivery system. He follows opponents, lunging, eating jabs & hopes for a stationary target. I don't know why he has never been taught the basics of cutting off the ring, using angles to move in, apply pressure and and trap his taller, faster opponents. It ain't rocket science- a steady diet of Marciano, Frazier & Tyson fight films might help.
