I go with 'ol Tex by stoppage on cuts. Cooper would start bleeding at the weigh in.

There it is.

Our 'Enery would land some hard punches on Cobb, but what else is new? Cobb's getting hit by everybody, but he's not going anywhere. Eventually, he's gonna hit back, and the inevitable happens.

This would be a dreadful nightmare for 'Enery, who would have found Cobb laughing at his hammer. Tex would have simply walked through Cooper's hook, and sliced him up with that slow heavy jab of his.

Tex TKO Cooper on cuts late.

They would split a 2 fight series Tex wins the first by late stoppage, Cooper gets tired of beating him up and Cobb slowly comes on to stop him late.

2nd fight Cooper is well aware of Cobbs ruggedness and wins a decision.

Cooper is clearly at least four levels above Cobb. Cobb was a face first brawler with a chin, Cooper could actually box!

Cooper by Holmesesque shut out decision.

Cobb would simply be too big and strong for Cooper. It would be different if Henry was harder to hit than he actually was.

Cobb by late stoppage. Cooper would hammer away at him for most of the early rounds to no avail, then once Tex started landing some heavy shots, Cooper would break down and either get KO'd or rescued by his corner.

Texas Cobb was NOT the farce or bum some people think...... In a streetfight, Cobb was a bad-ass..........

Henry Cooper was no boxing artist; he was a fighter with toilet tissue skin....

I see Cobb being bigger, stronger with tougher skin.... Cobb wins a 10 rounder.......

Cobb was limited in both skill and mobility, but mentally and physically, he was as tough as any man whoever stepped in a boxing ring. With a sturdy chin, heavy punch, and a no-quit mentality a man can go pretty far in the heavy weight division.

Cobb didn't have a big punch though. Cooper would win the decision, unless he gets cut which is very possible against the rough and tough Cobb.

Considering the year was 1988 and both "Cobb & L. Stinks" were over-the-hill by that juncture, the two still waged a war that was unreal....... Cobb earned my respect in eeking out the 10 rd. decision over a gutsy Leon Stinks...... I believe it would be the last time that Leon Stinks ever looked as good as he did---considering the circumstances involved... Cobb went ahead and strung some more wins onto his record for extra padding.....

Tex was still coking up back in those days. He was making movies in hollywood, living the freelance actor's life, and partying his ass off. Leon had more or less been reduced to a street bum, and was taking any payday that he could get, often losing to mediocre opponents.

Cobb was a fighter who took a helluva shot, and kept coming, i see tex stopping cooper late due to cuts.

I'd forgotten about this fight. Spinks does deserve a mention for this.

I see Cooper who is better known for his left hook boxing his way to a decision against the tough but not big punching Cobb.

Cobb was a damn tough fighter who deserves a little more more respect....OK, he got beaten badly by Holmes but losing to an ATG HW champ in no way makes one a bad fighter.

See his fight with Norton - a pretty good HW brawl....

If coopr could avoid getting cut then he wins. Wouldn't be a cakewalk, though, because of cobbs ability to take a punch and stamina. He may not be one of the greatest fighters of all time but he possesed one of the greatest chins ever, along with being tremendously tough.

cooper just has too many skills for tex and tex was too slow. lopsided ud for cooper

Cooper would have to drive a stake through Tex's heart between rounds to win this one..Cobb by a bloody, knockdown-free tko in 9.

If it's the cobb that battled Norton.. I'll take him to cut up Cooper.

I'd shave my balls to get a clean copy of "Cobb-Norton" from '80....

I have a so-so copy of "Cobb-Shavers." A great scrape for 6 rds, but then Ol' Shavers ran outta gas and got clipped in round 8.....
:deal:bbb

WTF is Ol' Cobb doin' these days and nights?:huh

I'd like to see Texas Cobb lift his leg and give Ol' Coop a spinning back kick to the side of the head..... I bet that would stop Coop in his tracks........

Cooper was a tough guy could hit but not hard enough to stop Cobb who took Shavers best. Henry could take the nod but hard to see him blood-less and Tex had a head like a Ryno...I could see a bloody end to all this indeed

It kills me how we thought Norton was seriously old and done with by 1980, but Christ, he was only 35 to 36 yrs of age and still a solid 218 pounds........ Norton was not truly that old in '80......... He was fit like an athlete should be....... WORD!

Fuck it.... Cobb is showing his greeness by standing in front of the more savvy Norton, but Cobb is pressing and throwing constant leather...... After 3 its close, but Norton has got to get his ass going forward and back-up Cobb......

MR.BILL

Bummy Davis

Tex was tough but had no real snap in his punch and always fought green, he relied on a solid chin but he took a hammering in most fights, he was easy to hit and that head and bush of hair sprayed all over. Cobb could wear you down from hitting him like he did Shavers but most of the time he was a big durable target at most

Cobb got screwed............. Norton looked physically great, but his ass was glued to them ropes all too often and his counters were not all that impressive to me....... Cobb gets the nod on my card........

No I scored it for Norton IMO.
It was very close and I think it could've gone either way.
Yeah, cobb had the aggression, and had him on the ropes more, so he was the ring general, but Norton was landing the better shots.
