I don't know much about Small. Infact I don't think I've ever seen him fight. His record isn't too impressive and he's lost to Pryce which doesn't bode well...but it could be a poor night. I heard he was winning and it was stamina related, he could have improved that.
Yes, he was outboxing Pryce before he gassed.
He's only put down a fiver.

yeah, accumulators are the best way to engineer some decent value. that bet is effectively 46/1 so no doubt its a long shot. good when you can find 4 to 6 things you feel strongly about and get 4/1 ish odds.
Lesnar is dodgy
Blecher is very dodgy
Lesnar will win, Belcher is far from a sure thing but CroCop, Kang, Wanderlei, Shogun and loads of the others who come from Japan to the UFC seem to find the transition tough and lose early on. Akiyama has been fighting some shocking competition and been inactive lately, Belcher is on form.

The last bet I put on was £400 Hatton to KO Pacquiao!!!!!!!
Haha!!!
The week before that I also bet £100 that Froch would beat Taylor by KO. I also put £400 for Khan to KO Barrera at William Hill so I got my money back from that one.... with all the winnings too! Some bookies wouldn't pay because Khan won by technical decision and not technical knock out.
I only ever bet on fights or fighters I'm interested in.... as for Ricky Hatton, he's the only fighter I've ever bet on that I was 100% sure was going to win, but didn't! I'm never betting on him again!!!

Free bet (almost)!
Bradley by decision: evens - £60 = return £120
Bradley by stoppage: 9/2 - £25 = return £137.50
Campbell by decision: 6/1 - £20 = return £140
Campbell by stoppage: 7/1 - £15 = return £120
Of course you run the risk of the fight being a draw, but you could potentially pick up a decent amount of money. :good

what you guys reckon on this accumalator:
Dirrel win on points vs Froch (Dirrell is fast, very fast, and we saw what Taylor did to Froch)
Taylor win on points vs Abraham (AA usually starts slow and loses first 3 rounds or so)
Cotto win vs Pac (Pac was hardly hit against Ricky, but when he was, to me he looked a little shaken)
Haye stops Valuev (will from the whole boxing fanbase, will makesure valuev falls flat on his face)
Mayweather win vs JMM (not a gimmie thats for sure)
Inter win Serie A
Barcalona win La liga (Galactico's dont and wont win anything)

Anyone jumping on the 5th Test?
I'd like to see relegation and sackrace odds for the Premiership...... I fancy Pompey, Hull and Wolves this season.

Surrey have drawn all four championship games at the Oval this year.
The pitch is generally a belter.
Just pray you win the toss.
Surrey have Ramprakash and he bats for 3 of the 4 days.
England's batting lineup can collapse on any pitch.
Besides, a drawn series is a decent effort by England even if they don't get that tinpot 'urn' so I won't be too unhappy.

Hmmmm.....
Ramprakash is (along with Hick) THE biggest disappointment in English cricket in the past 30 years.
There have been emails from English fans demanding his recall for the last Test :nut
Key for Bopara is a must. There aren't that many outstanding candidates for the #4 spot to replace Bell.
I'd expect the selectors to stick with him on the basis of his half century in the last Test.... ignoring the fact that he was stone dead LBW to Johnson after scoring about 20.
Kos - what are the odds for Jones by stoppage?
kosaros
08-09-2009, 12:58 PM
An RJJ win by stoppage is 5/2.
Ramprakash and Hick may have thrived in this era. They never really felt like they had the confidence of the selectors, with cushy central contracts and the mollycoddling backroom team we now see I think their fragile mental psyches would not have been so often exposed, and their natural ability would more often shine. Ian Bell averages 40, you can't tell me he's got more bottle or more talent than either.
Not to mention the bowling was a hell of a lot better around the world in their era. These days WI, NZ, Bangladesh and to a lesser extent even India and ****stan are not that potent. Only really South Africa and Sri Lanka have great bowlers, and Aussies are nowhere near as good without prime Warne and McGrath.

I certainly agree with your point regarding bowlers.
A batsman's cause is also aided by the improvements in bat technology and shorter boundaries - a point Mark Taylor has raised on several occasions.
Average batsmen now average 40.
Excellent players of yesteryear (say pre-2000) averaged in the 30's and had long careers - Gatting, Atherton, etc..... Mark Waugh is an ATG (IMO) and he only averaged 42. A guy who averaged 50 was considered extra special.
These days a guy averaging 50 is generally considered merely a very good player, with an average of 55 over a very long career being the benchmark now.

Not sure I agree with this at all. The reason Gatting and Atherton have averages in the thirties is that that is how good they were. Plenty of their contempories have averages that place them in the true world class category that neither genuinely reached. Gatting you are especially overrating as his average is padded by lots of matches against Indian and Australian teams with fairly weak bowling attacks (particularly fast bowling). Gatting averaged 15 against the West Indies, the premier bowling side of his era.
Ponting and Sangakkara may have the 13th and 14th best test averages of all time, but everyone above them in the list retired before 1975. Hardly conclusive evidence that present day batting is so much easier...

Catermole @ evens to score 2 premier league goals this season with Boylesports. Gonna stick 50 on it
He attacks more, its a world cup year and he has a very stern player in Cana beside him so expect to see him venture forward. Injury permitting he is gonna be starting almost all games so I think this is good value
Bent @ 10/11 to score 11 premier league goals. Injury permitting this is a good value bet. Again, World Cup year and he wants to be on the plane. He scored 18 league goals the last WC year but still didn't get on. In 4 premier league seasons he has only scored less than 11 on 1 occasion, his first at Spurs when they still had Berba, Keane and Defoe
Service wont be excellent at Sunderland but then I dont recall Fabregas playing for Charlton those two seasons he was there and he still scored well

I wouldn't bet against Calzaghe winning that. He has good footwork, he should be better prepared than anybody else that has never danced. He's a fair favourite.
Mark Ramprakash won it and he's hardly the life and soul of the party, its mostly middle aged housewifes voting and they'll love him in his sequin embroided top :hey

I said to Losfer on the Choi thread I didn't have the balls to stick it on, I had even put the £100 in my Betfair account.
The one thing stopping me was the memory of the Jones fight, where he starts shipping some and the towel goes in, as you point out.

Bet of the weekend was for me Real Madrid to score 4 plus against Deportivo at 6/1 with Coral!!!
Skybet had this at 5/2.
I only noticed these odds at the last minute and couldn't get it on-spent the whole match urging them not to score. Final score was 3-2 but there was a lot of chances.
Well worth watching to see what the odds are for the next home game they play because this Madrid team, when it clicks, will absolutely murder teams and if Coral offer that sort of price again it should be bet on heavily.

Turkey over Estonia, Poland over Northern Ireland, Spain over Belgium, Austria over Faroe Islands.
Poland vs. N. Ireland:
Poland is a must. We are good home team, and with the likes of Kuba, Obraniak, Brozek is on fire now, also M. Lewandowski is in good shape... we will fuck Ireland up no doubt imo.
3-0 Poland.
Turkey over Estonia
I think this is my biggest risk. Turkey are solid but they looked kinda fatigued vs Bosnia and Spain. This is a good analysis:
These 2 have met on a couple of occasions before, but in friendlies, both matches finishing as draws.
Estonia haven't scored in their last 2 WC qualifiers, but have conceded 10 goals (7-0 at Bosnia, and 0-3 against Spain). They also lost their opener at Belgium, but they did manage to score a couple (3-2). Prior to that there were 2 friendlies which they won 2-1 against Malta and 4-3 against the Faroe Islands - not really too much to shout about.
the last time they won in competitive matches was in the Euro Qualifiers last year against Andorra 0-2. they drew against Macedonia and beat Andorra at home 2-1. Other than that, they lost all there other games - in most of them they didn't even bother to score!
Turkey as a team are in great form recently, having been knocked out in the semi finals of Euro 2008 this year against the runners up Germany. They beat Bosnia 2-1 and Armenia 0-2 but had a bit of a slip up against Belgium - only managing a home draw 1-1.
The only way Turkey won't win this match by several goals is if they under estimate Estonia, but I think they will have learnt their lesson from the Belgium match.
2-0 Turkey
Spain over Belgium
Spain is the best team in the world, and Belgium have struggled vs. a poor Estonian team. Spain will shit on them, especially at home. Belgium don't have the quality and teamwork like Spain does.
3-0 Spain
Austria over Faeroe Islands.
Austria is a pretty solid small team. Solid enough to beat the Islands. Austria are like a Mini Germany.
3-0 Austria.
Risk: $150.00
Winnings: $237.08

Nice man. I can't see much going wrong there, might have a look at the odds I can get myself.
Belgium actually have some very talented players, but not much in the way of teamwork and I give them minimal chance away from home against Spain.
Faroes have no chance against anybody away from home, they need home turf to level up the odds.
Gotta fancy Poland at home to Northern Ireland and Turkey against Estonia.
Pawel Brozek? I have him in my Wisla team on Football Manager right now. He is supposed to be my best player but is outshined by Beto right now.

Yea Pawel Brozek is in good form now.
He only scored 2 in 5 games but he seems to only score in vital games....While the likes of Golanski or Marcelo tend to score vs the lower teir teams.
Today we played a undefeated team in Jagielona(pretty good team) and Pawel scored the 2-1 winner.
Hes going to be vital vs. Ireland cause Ireneusz Jelen(my fav player :D) is injured, and Robert Lewandowski is kinda slipping, he was horrible vs. Brugge...
Right now Wisla are on fire in the leauge, undefeated so far in 5 games.
Smolarek is clubless. Get that, we got a player on Poland who doesn't have a club.
But he has been very solid in our 2-0 freindly win vs. Greece(2 weeks ago) and 10-0 destruction of San Marino.
Bolton dont want him and Racing Santander dont want him either. He might be going to Holland...
But Smolarek is always commited and he always gives it his all. Good mental player, bad manager.
In other words, N. Ireland are pretty much fucked imo... Better feild, home court, revenge mentality, our players are in decent form. I think we got this. :good
andyZOR

The odds on Poland winning are 1,60
-160
Thats a good odd imo..Poland aren't really horrible, we got a solid squad with great mid fielders like Roger, Obraniak, M. Lewandowski from Shaktar, and we cant forget Kuba,
a good keeper, right now our main strikers are injured but Brozek is a good backup for Ireneusz Jelen. Hard working player both of them. Our defense isn't that great, especially we now got to rely on a rookie in Golanski to fill in Wasilewski's place(check my thread in the lounge, career defying injury. Worse than what happened to Eduardo.)... but Boruc imo is in good form and he counts as a defender :D
N.Ireland don't know how to play with the ball, so a poor ground benefits them and brings any half decent team down to their level. Then they can just play physical football and hope to get lucky in front of goal once or twice. Many poor teams play like that. Now we are playing Home, Ireland are in for a 2-0 whoopin at least.
A 3-0 or 2-0 victory is in place imo.. Northern Ireland are a sloppy team...

I'm trusting you here. When's the final?
It's always on a weekend and today is the second round so that would make it the Sunday after next.
She's kicking serious ass at the moment 6-1 5-0 up. She has some chick called Sanchez next then it finally gets tough against one of;
Vera Zvonareva ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) RUS (7)
v
Elena Vesnina ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) RUS (31)
Aleksandra Wozniak ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) CAN
v
Flavia Pennetta ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) ITA (10)
I don't know who beats her unless she has a meltdown. I watched Venus's opening 2 matches and she struggled like hell in the first and was a few points from losing, better today but still a little tentative on the serve because she lands on her knee which has tendonitis.

£33.75 for your £10, including stake return.
I think Kessler will stop his next opponent, Ward will as well.

The smart money is definitely on Fury - if McDermott couldn't stop a shot to shit Danny Williams he isn't stopping Fury, unless he has a Glass Jaw.
I think body shots will be key in this fight, Macca surely won't be able to take too many of those.

Doesn't seem like a bad bet to me.....
Macklin at 2/9 is awful value - if the Finn is available at 3/1 I'd stick a fiver on that as a bet to nothing.
Get on Kessler by stoppage, it's only 1/2 but as near a cert as you can get, I'd say. There are far less certain bets out there around the 1/4 mark.

Its a decent bet@ beeston, but sometimes I feel there is better value in an over 2.5 goals coupon as some teams do get twatted to nil

just done a bit of research with this goals galore in mind for anyone who cares...
in the last 36 prem games 58% of results have had atleast one team not score in the game
in the last 59 championship games 49% have had atleast one team not score
so if you just bet on championship games (say its 50%) and you pick 3 games, by my maths that means you have a 1/8 chance of winning (1/2 for each game, then times 1/2 by 3)
now i know this is just a prediction and some games are more likely to be goaless than others but football can be very unpredictable and its made me think twice about how rewarding this could be.
how many of you have had success on this. its very tempting tho

the goals galore bet can be profitable , i have posted a couple of selections on here i have a treble up last night and 3ot of 4 last weekend which i recommended to perm in cross trebles and a fourfold
on top of this i have won on 4 out of 6 times ive done this bet
you need to follow a few simple rules
do not pick to many selections at odds of 9/2 for 3 selections or 9/1 for four you dont need to get greedy
secondly focus on teams on derby matches they are passionate affairs and rarely end up 1-0 or 0-0
premership games are harder but games like wolves v hull are mini cup finals for these sides and they need to get something from them
lastly put in plenty of studying time look at league tables/form/teams with weak defences/ attacking teams look at injuires to goalies and forwards bbc.com gives very detailed team info from friday afternoon onwards
this is what has been making me money it takes time but its worth it
i post my selections in here on a friday night feel free to chek em out and discuss

Those four aren't bad picks, but I'd back Villa to go to St. Andrews and keep a clean sheet.
I've put £2 each on rounds 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 in Fury vs McDermott.
I don't see Fury blasting McDermott out early - the only decent (ish) guy he has blown away is Belshaw, and Macca for all his faults is a class above, and will most likely look to hug Fury to retain energy.

Leeds 10/11 vs Southend

Huddersfield 8/11 vs Brentford
£5 - £75

The concerning thing is he's 1/33 on but the stoppage is at 1/2. Maybe they know something about Perdomo I don't, they will have studied him. I've only seen a few minutes so I don't know how tough it is.

Looking at form lines....
He lost a close UD to Sartison, who was subsequently thrashed (and KO'd) by Kessler.... other than that his resume is threadbare.
Haussler was a limited (albeit tough) guy that hadn't been KO'd, and Kessler treated him like some 3rd rate sparring fodder.
Perhaps this may be an error from the bookies, or simply plenty of punters loading on Kessler merely to win not knowing too much about this dude.

I thought they would have been shorter odds with the start leeds have made.
Barnsley are the ones that i have regrets about at the minute, every manager i remember getting sacked recently the guy coming in always has a good start then gets pissed all over.
