View Full Version : Geale VS Mandy
Well folks, I'm the last person who likes to spread bullshit rumours like so many of the trolls here of late. And I certainly don't like discussing Mandy.
But, I have it on good authority that Geale and Mandy will fight on 27th of May.
An opponent for Geales fight next week should also be known in the next 48 hours.
If this really happens, I hope Geale knocks Mandys block off..... :bbb

Geale will be the one with his block knocked off. And you can partly blaim those who manage him. He hasn't fought enough. Nor against good enough guys.
To take down the 3rd best Middleweight in the world.

Mate your nuthugging has no boundaries does it. Mundine has had one fight at the weight against a washed up former welterweight and he is all of a sudden the 3rd best middleweight in the world. :verysad

And then further down we have Paul Williams. Who hasn't fought at this weight before, we not against a half decent opponent. Andy Kolle? :patsch
This is exactly my point, if Williams cant be considered due to fighting no one at this weight except Kolle then how can Mundine if he has only fought Taylor ?

I said something along these lines the other day in a different thread, and I'll say it again.
How is Mundine going to knock Geales block off?
What has Mundine achieved in his last 1/2 dozen or so fights that Geale couldn't?
Oh, that's right, he's gone the distance with a pile of journeymen, and he's even been dropped by a few of them. Truly stunning performances. :patsch
Get real, Mundine hasn't knocked anyones block off lately, let alone a worthy contender like Geale. Geale will trouble Mundine as he is just as quick, smarter, and can bang equally as good.
Realistically, this could go either way, though I really want Geale to win. Yes, because I can't stand Mandy, but at least I can still remain impartial.

That ain't Mandy.

Okay let me start here.
1. Mundines third rate opposition has still been a lot better then Geales.
2. Geale got dropped by Mckinnon.
3. Mundine has the runs on the board he has beaten world class fighters before.
4. Geale lacks power. He can't end a fight.
5. Mundines defence is a lot better then Geales.
Im getting sick of talking about Mundine and Geale here. I am 100% confident Geale will be hurt and the fight will be stopped.
You best be having a quid on the result then :think
Okay let me start here.
1. Mundines third rate opposition has still been a lot better then Geales.
Bullshit. In Mandys last 9 fights the only worthy opponent has been Soliman.
2. Geale got dropped by Mckinnon.
Mandy got dropped by Crazy Kim and another journey man from within his last 5 fights (can't remember who).
3. Mundine has the runs on the board he has beaten world class fighters before.
Yeh, who?
As soon as Mandy has stepped it up he's been beaten, every time.
4. Geale lacks power. He can't end a fight.
And Mandy can? His last 5 fights were Journey men (except Sol) and he couldn't make a dent in them, they all went UD. Mandy had no power in his last fight with Taylor.
Geale and Mandy have the same 60% KO record accroding to Boxrec.
5. Mundines defence is a lot better then Geales.
In your dreams, that's why he got clocked by 2 journey men.
Im getting sick of talking about Mundine and Geale here.
Good, then go away.
I am 100% confident Geale will be hurt and the fight will be stopped.
Keep dreaming.

Mundine would have won this fight easy in the past, but going on his last few performances, he'll need to imporve a lot. He better hope the hip injury is the sole reason for his loss of power.

I hope the fight gets made.....its a good step up for both fighters.

Agreed.

Agree with that too.
:good
Keep dreaming? If Geale was good enough he wouldn't be in the same ring as James Obede Toney and Ajetovic.
What so he'd be in the ring with Crazy Kim and Rafael Sosa Pintos instead? Surely you jest?
Geales opponents are all appropriate fights given the length he's been fighting. And no worse than what Mandy has been doing after a hell of a lot more fights.
Geale and Mandy have the same KO record. :patsch
Just the facts, take a look at Boxrec yourself.

The problem is Sally, and Smellfinger. You guys have admitted you haven't been watching the fights lately. So your judging off 2 minute highlight videos?
Um no, i havent said that. Look at who gave the round by round for the Taylor fight:deal
Geale is 28.
Just wondering where the wins over Green, Soliman and Echolls are on his record?
If you can't see the major differences in Geale and Mundine. Your either 1) Part of Geales team. 2) A hater.
:-(
You just don't get it......
Geales only had 20 fights, Mandys had 38. Meaning that they are at different levels of their career.
Geale is on his way up, Mandy is on his way down.
As 'smellmyfinger' said, Mandy would have won in say 05 and 06. But not today. Mandy is past his best, that's clear to anyone who has seen his recent efforts.
Geale hasn't even hit his best yet.
So to answer your question, sure I can see differences between them, however those differences are not the same as yours.
And no, I'm not part of Geales team, and no I don't 'hate' Mandy. I do think he's a wanker though.

Im a long time supoorter of Mundine who has lost respect the last 18 months. But after years of defending him, i think a part of me will always want him to succeed. There's only two scenerio's where i'll be happy for him to get beat:
1, He fights Green, because it will prove (once and for all) its only about money.
2, its by an AUSSIE fighter who could be a genuine world champion.
So with that in mind, i hope Mundine beats Geale, because i cant see Geale being a dominant force on the world stage.

If this fight happens I would be very surprised if Mundine doesn't win by comfortable decision. Something like 116-112 or 117-111. Enormous step up for Geale imo.

If Mundine-Geale gets made, put your house on a UD win for Choc. As I have said many times before (with reasons previously explained), Mundine ain't stopping ANY decent fighter at Middleweight.
It will be typical Mundine rubbish - fight flat-footed, low work rate, land the occasional jab and 1-2, and basically do just enough to win most of the rounds. 117-111 or so. Mundine couldn't floor his wheelchair riden Grandma the way he's going at the moment.

You can't in the world be serious to say Geale is as quick as Mundine. Geale is good, but Mundine is a few notches above him easily.
With that statement, I don't think you 'remain impartial'.

Sorry to get off the thread but compare the performances of Marquez & Diaz both during and after their fight to that of the big mouthed braggart [ huggers don't tell me it's all an act ] If he was watching he could have learned something about humility & sportsmanship. The Mouth v Geale will probably happen . Versus Pavlik or Sturm , you're kidding . He won't get out of his comfort zone. Keep paying your ppv dollars suckers.

Some things are agreeable... most biased and out of context. Geale may, at the age of 28, have a higher work rate, yet he'll find a new proposition.... the ability to get inside, or back the Man up will be a harder task... just tagging Mundine will be a challenge. This is a totally new realm for Daniel.
With his 20 wins, full credit to him. More credit to him for sounding convinced about the fight. Its a credit to Daniel for taking on a ranked fighter, with close to twice the career bouts.
If Mundine is applied on the night, and strong (hope he is), something may be seen by the viewers... the total skill level, and limitations of both men at M/W... Mundine especially.
The upcoming bout for Geale, should offer a prelude to his own current form. Hopefully he performs well, dispatching Toney without personal damage.
When the Geale vs Mundine arrives, Nutthuggers, haters, followers and fans, will again be provided the platform to witness Mundine take on a local talent again, and a classy local talent at that.... much the same as Mundine was at the stage he demolished the 'aged' Lester Ellis. The outcome will not be the same, although Geale has his chance to commit an upset, over the distance.
Good luck to both fighters, my money.. asuming any bet is made, will be a onesided victory for Mundine...
Anything can happen in the greatest game of all.....
The bout may not even take place.
