Police investigate a second gym firebombing in Perth

THE police arson squad is investigating the firebombing of a second Perth gym with Molotov cocktails in less than two months.
Detectives have not ruled out the possibility of a link between the two attacks.
Witnesses saw three people outside the Fight N Fitness Centre in Perth’s Northbridge entertainment district shortly after midnight yesterday.
Police said one of the three suspects broke into an upstairs apartment and a Molotov cocktail was thrown, causing up to $50,000 damage.
Another two unexploded Molotov cocktails were also found in the area.
On January 24, two Molotov cocktails were thrown into the Kronk Boxing Australia gym, in north suburban Maylands, causing $100,000 damage.
The gym was partly owned by Western Australia’s only woman professional boxer Erin McGowan.
The attack was reportedly linked to an earlier fight between bouncers connected to the gym and Coffin Cheaters bikies and a Perth street gang.
The Arson Squad’s Detective Sergeant David Gorton said all possibilities were being explored in relation to yesterday’s attack.
“At this stage we don’t know if there are any links, but we’re keeping an open mind in relation to that,” Det Gorton said.
“Somebody’s got some sort of gripe against somebody.
“It’s not random, somebody’s been targeted.”
The fitness centre and the apartment are both owned by long-time Perth trainer Ron Parr.
Mr Parr would not comment.
The centre’s manager Brian Ebersole is a mixed martial arts competitor from the United States who is due to compete in a cage fighting event in Perth on March 24.
He had slept on the couch of the firebombed apartment the night before and said he had been lucky no one had been hurt.
He said there had been no recent problems at the gym.
‘I’m praying it was a juvenile prank,” he said.
“Obviously we heard about what happened at Kronk’s Gym a couple of weeks ago.
“There haven’t been any public fights or dramas leading into this.
“So it does seem like it’s a different set of circumstances.”

How so Sally??? especially regarding this situation?? If some tool head, has the limited amount of balls to target a vacant premise, it suggests a 'threat'. Its the wankers involved in the shit fight that give the 'game' a bad name.... via their feeble 'courageous' actions. The blokes/kids/ ladies, who train at the gym that are affected.
Perhaps all disagreements should be settled in the ring. As if, its easier to target the public image, and hope to create an impact through pissy actions.

Only link at the moment that i know of is that Erin McGowan, who co-owned Kronk, was training out of Fitness n Fite Centre, however it was Adam Forsyth's (also co-owner) run in with the Bikies that led to Kronk burning down.
Adam i believe is still overseas.

Interesting suggestion and one not without precedent.
My secondary school had a boxing ring. My father attended the same school years prior and said that in his time there (circa mid 1940's) conflicts were settled in the ring.
On a regular basis a pair of protagonists would be dragged to the ring by the ear and gloved up in order to resolve a dispute.
Not sure how successful this method is. My father wasn't a particularly big wrap for it.

TeamKronk... for the sake of the Forum... please offer some information, regarding the senseless acts of late. Whats the likelyhood of another 'fireplace' being opened to the public, before it's doused with limited Australian water??? Sincere question that one...
Obviously certain elements need to be removed from the network of Kronk... or associates of Kronk.. people who encourage 'playing with matches'....
At what point does it become an oversight, if both fires are related, to open another gym??
Where does the security of 'gym users' become garanteed, for any future gym ventures??
W.A needs the gym usage to be a safe and happy process... hopefully the squabbles stop soon.

To the best of my knowledge the gym in Northbridge is not involved in anything, Erin MacGowan was training there, but then again I'm a decade out of that scene.

Pretty sure Harrys Gym is safe, some things you don't push.
3 weeks without a job and my bourbon intake has increased 1000%. Have also burnt 500 dvds in that time. On my current diet will be ready to hit the heavyweight ranks very soon.

Guys this is what ive heard, from reliable resources. A certain gang has begun infiltrating Perth, now Perth for so long has been dominated by one gang with no real threat, however now that a threat has risen they have decided to stamp their authority on their turf. One nite while out looking for certain elements of the infiltrating gang the group was refused entry to a certain nite spot, the nite spots security was headed by no other than Adam Forsyth, hence the retaliation. Now, anyone found to have any known links or friendships to this new group are a target, regardless of who you are...
Hope this sheds a bit of life on the situation, Adam it seems was targeted for just doing his job.

Why the fuck is he in security anyway ? If he has any regard for his boxing career he wont be there. A lil skinny fuck chucking a glass etc for example, resulting in a cut that will heal but career wise may pose problems aint a good thing. exactly i remember when i was 17 and in a nightclub called sweethearts at cabramatta which boasted the biggest bouncers in NSW one was shot dead by a weedy little 16 year old asian kid.not an occupation to be in if you value your health.
