i say if its a real close fight (which i hope it is) he should fight a few more tp welterweights such as cintron, williams and margarito and then go after floyd,
.
if he loses badly then he can retire or like the first option he can still fight a top welterweight to see where he is at

If he loses, he will call it a day and hang em up. He's getting too old to make another run after this fight. Jin would probably make him retire.

Agreed. Floyd won't fight him right after a loss to Cotto.

I think either way he should retire, I dont think Mayweather will fight him and if he does beat Cotto it will be a huge high to go out on.
He won't beat him tho :yep.

If its close, I dont there is any shame in losing to Cotto that way, he is a great fighter. I actually give shane a good shot in this fight, he has the style and chin to pose a problem for Cotto.

Mosley would probably fight a couple more times, and then call it one. But he will KO Cotto, so he should be fine. :good

He should retire and then kick Relentless in the mouth for starting yet another thread involving Miguel Cotto.

Mosley is not the type of guy that just accepts defeat. If he loses a close competitive fight, he will be looking for a rematch in the post fight presser.

close fight or not . . . if he loses . . . he should retire.
DLH, Vargas and Morales are the other fighters who should all retire. They should leave it to the young fighters.

It all really depend on how he lost, more then anything. If it's close, or controversial, then he just keeps fighting. He's got the name and will get another fight.
If he's blown away or looks terrible in a lopsided loss, then time to rethink things.

if he loses no matter how close or not, he should retire unless he jumps on the Senior Tour bus.
the only thing is im not sure how many seniors there are left around his weight. And he's already fought del la hoya couple times.
Of course if he was a middleweight or heavier there would still be plenty of senior tour exhibition fights still left.
the bottom line is in this day and age with marketing gurus, pr teams and the power of name brand, older fighters are finding it easier to hang around and pick fight that will sell. look at mayorga and vargas. two guys on the downward slide yet come fight night there'll be lots of people eagerly tuning in or buying tickets.

Fight the winner of vargas mayorga.
If he loses, then retire is the best choice. He has done more than enough already and is a great fighter regardless.
Fight the winner of vargas mayorga.
To get a free quick KO?, I don't think he needs it.

All these latin boxing fans on ESB are going to have such a lousy November.
Shane is not going to lose.
And in the hottest divsion in the sport all they will have to hang their hopes on is Kermit the Frog...hahahahahahahaha
i'm not latin you idiot, if you knew anything about me you would know i am a big fan of both cotto and mosley, i am not predicting a cotto win i am just saying what will mosley do if he loses.

Mosley's old, Cotto is young. The promoters always want the younger guy to win.

Win or loose he should retire. He is not the joungest anymore and its always better to retire with a win, not with a loss. I think the fight against Cotto will be verry hard and he propably has one hard fight left in him.

You could arugu that if Mosley loses to Cotto at the age of 35 he should hang the gloves up. On the other hand you could say that age is just a number and a loss to Cotto while a set back would not be a carrer ender. If Mosley loses to Cotto and decides to continue to fight he would probbly have one or two comeback fights before reentering the big time.

Throughout Mosely's career he has always kept a steady fast pace and never really methodically broke a fighter down. He's abilities are far superior to the average fighter so having a well detailed game plan that was madatory to stick to was not always the option. With that being said this flaw in his almost flawless fighting style will be the exact same reason he will lose. Mosely will allow Cotto to dictacte the fight without him even realizing what's going on until its to late. Mosely's pride will be his downfall in this FOTY....Shane is what a fighter should be "all balls" baby. Trust me I won't be surprised if Shane pulls this one off and stops Cotto but logically I see Cotto winning by stoppage in the 10th or UD.

Oh my fault........
If Mosely loses he should probably sit back for a couple months and try his hand at one of the other belts. He has the popularity and I doubt he will look washed up in his fight with Cotto, if anything it might raise his stock. Mosely's a warrior he won't runaway from a gun fight, even if he only hand a knife.
Fight Cintron or Williams.

not really, its a win win situation for me, both are my favourite, if cotto wins he will go onto fight other good fighters, if mosley wins he will probably fight floyd and cotto is still young.
