I really can't take these threads seriously on if Pac has a chance against Floyd at a catchweight, Malinag, so on and so forth. Its ridiculous.
He can go to 135 and beat somebody of the likes of Nate Campbell or even win David Diaz's belt, but it wouldn't amount to shit in my book. Go big or go home. No point in fighting anybody in that division unless you eventually plan to fight the top dogs like Juan or Julio Diaz or Casa. I would be more satisfied in him beating somebody like up and coming Katsidis or Anthony Peterson rather than beating David Diaz. All David Diaz has is a belt and hasn't established himself. Neither have people like Katsidis, Peterson or Kid Diamond, but they are more dangerous and would mean more in the long run.
Don't be fooled even if he moves up and beats David Diaz or anyone else on that level, the real challenges are the other Diaz. The Pac express will be shut down at 135 if he sticks around for too long.

The thoughts of him going to 135 at this point is plain ridiculous.
JMM, Guzman, Soto, Valero. These are four formidable foes he has to face first and solidifies his hold at the 130.

He isnt even going to beat Barrera so hold off on the 135 talk although he would destroy David Diaz who looks pretty bad.

Dam straight Barrera is the true defention of a great fighter and will fucking bring his A while I bet Pacquiao is alittle unfoucused although everyone is warning him. If Morales can beat Pacquiao and Marquez can I really see no reason to believe Barrera cant outbox Pacquiao.

Just the thought of Pac, Barrera must be peeing in his pajamas, dude! :rofl
Yeah cause Barrera has pissed his pants so much, Yeah what a pussy I mean why did he even sign for a rematch agianst a dude hes scared to death of  Junior Jones whipped him worse then Pacquiao did and he went right back in there and some people even think he won the rematch. When a guys fought Junior Jones twice,Kennedy McKinney,Rocky Juarez twice,Kevin Kelly,Erik Morales 3 times,Johnny Tapia,Robbie Peden and Nassem Hamed ur going to have a hard time making me believe hes pissing his pants at any person.

Oh, another classic analysis. Your Alzheimer's made you forget Pac KOd your boyfriends not long ago. :D:D:D
Yeah im 19 years old with Alzheimers :yep Pacquiao TKO 11 ............................................... YOUR POINT IS ? Whats that have to do with Barrera pissing himself. Barreras a smart dude couldve been a lawyer I doubt hed sign for a fight that can always risk his life agianst a guy hes having wet dream nightmares about. Fucking morons man but what do I expect im sure you one of the guys that think Pacquiao could KO Mayweather,Wilfredo Gomez,Salavador Sanchez and Willie Pep in 1 night.

Pacman can win a belt at 135, but 135 is not a good weight for him. 130 is a good weight, but I always thought he was best suited for 126. Anybody who says he beats Mayweather or Hatton is delusional.

As my favorite fighter I would love for him to be competitive above 130. However, realistically looking, the only 2 title holders at 135 I can see him possibly beating are David Diaz and Kastidis. 140 is simply way too much for Pacman, especially with his style. Lets not forget he started his carrer at 105.
Katsidis would knock him out easily. 4 rounds or something. He hits far too hard and is too big for Pacquiao.
Pac would beat David Diaz at 135lbs and Gavin Rees at 140lbs though.

Please stop. Who has Katsidis fought and beat to suggest such an outcome? 2 fights ago he fought a "can" with a record of 5-2. At this point besides the entertaining style Katsidis is totally unproven commodity.

you're giving katsidis too much credit... sure, he's a warrior, even the new "gatti" but just like gatti, he will be starched when he finally faces elite p4p fighters. he can't even finish off a c-level fighter like amonsot who has much less punching power compared to pac. the guy cuts too easily to be in the ring w/ a relentless, punching machine like pac. he'll just lose buckets of blood until he finally collapses.

U see this is what gets to me sometimes. People think they know a certain fighter just because they've seen a few footages or fights of them on YOUTUBE on a small little screen.... Watching a fight on a tiny youtube screen and viewing it on a big screen makes a world of difference bruh believe it or not.. A huge difference.. U can pick out the smallest things on a big screen and it's better to analyze...
NOt only that but ive been to a live Valero sparring session in LA and believe me, he's not a crude one dimensional slugger like most people believe.. Ill tell u one thing... He's alot better technical boxer than Pacman... He's a fine technician when he wants to be... He's a master counter puncher but i bet none of u would believe that... It's ok cuz in due time it'll show...
So who did pacman beat to suggest that he'll murder Barrera back in 03??? besides no one really believed that he'll pull the upset but he did...
FINITO
03-19-2009, 01:49 PM
Pac was 23 when he fought Barrera, and was already a 2 time World titlist, and was ranked #2 (behind Paulie Ayala) at 122. While Valero is already 27, and he still not stepped up with a fighter of even a legitimate LW contender. Age is Valeros biggest obstacle for him to achieve his true potential.
SO being a titlist and #2 at " 122" behind AYALA suggests that he'll beat a world class champion veteran like BArrera at 126????? :huh
Valero was a titlist too at 130.. and he won it by going into the champion's backyard..... :deal

Pac has only had one fight above 135, and that was against a weight drain zombie in DLH. The thread starter still might be right unless Pac can beat Hatton. Really, this will be Pac's first fight against the best opposition in a weight class since he fought(and lost IMO) to Marquez.

I agree bruh, and long time no see. Can't believe people think Pac is going to walk all over Hatton. This fight is still 50/50 to me. I want to see how Pac handles Hatton's constant pressure, speed and power. I mean this is 140, not 126. Big difference here.

are we sure that we want to put casamayor, at this late stage of boxing decrepitude as an elite lightweight opponent for pacquaio? i know it took the likes of juan manuel marquez to ice him in his last fight, but i think that the matching serves to conceal the fact that casa is way past his elite level days and will run out the clock without ever even approaching a top tier performance again.

incidentally, i am shocked that it is not more commonly accepted that pacquiao's speed will likely be the key to easy victory against hatton. hatton only beat the quicker malignaggi because paulie was terrified of hatton's punch, kept getting jammed up with him legs crossed and freezing after getting popped to the body. not to take anything away from hatton, but unless he's permitted to hold and hit against the ropes like he complained about not being able to do against mayweather i think he is going to be cleanly outboxed and cut up. i have been as shocked as anyone that pac kept as much of his speed as he did moving up so massively in weight. who knows how he has managed it, but he has. if hatton lands early and heavy, he could stop pac...no doubt. however, hatton is a slow starter and pacquiao is a fire-starter. i think hatton's chances get flushed in this way.
