Has Barrera ever shown dramatic..dramtic decline in speed, and endurance inside the ring...? Has Barrera ever been beat down really badly in these past few years..? No
People are making ready made excuses, because deep down they know. Amir Khan is too big, to fast and to slick for Barrera. I honestly think Barrera only has a punches chance....

No.
People accept Jones was shot on the basis he wasnt KO'ing bums like he would have done, and couldnt stop a WW at LHW. Not to mention your own eyes that show he wasnt anything like his old self running up to the Calzaghe fight.
MAB has taken care of bums and went the distance with the best in his last 4 fights. Past prime, obviously, but nowhere near shot. You can tell by watching him he isnt the old MAB, but he is still taking care of business away from the Elite level while competing at the Elite level(12 Rounds twice with the top 2 in the world). Different from Jones.
What he is like at LW is far harder to judge(Impossible?). And will be the safety net for those wanting to hate on Khan if he pulls it off(Which i was sure of but as it gets closer, dont know).
This sort of fight has happened for as long as I remember, the fact it is happening to an unpopular British fighter with a big weakness on this forum(The whole ESB) will show itself on Sunday. The hate Khan will get for a victory(If achieved) will be fucked up.
Much Like Calzaghe beating a P4P top 3 got nothing but distain. (But times 10 coz Khan is so derided) Forgetting what the opponent had achieved immediately before and during and in Calzaghe's case after. But deriled because of age.
If they want to make excuses they will.
Bump the thread from the day before the MAB fight was announced, and it had been leaked it was going to ba legend. The Mention of Barrera as an oppo got laughed at, and he hasnt done anything but KO his oppo since. And look at the difference since and the covering of backs after.
I give Khan credit for taking the fight, if he wins there are ways i would prefer him to win,(MAB looking class till Khan stops him in 11 would do nicely) but I cant see that happening. So the credit for the win(If achieved) should reflect the fight. I have a feeling it wont.
Theres been some good threads about this fight around and even though im saying Khan TKO 6, I wouldnt be even remotely surprised by any result bar a complete sparko, goodnight KO by Khan on Barrera in any round. Everything else is a distinct possibility.

Good post bro. :thumbsup
I agree, Khan is kinda in a lose / lose position here on ESB.

I'm not sure that is even possible
And what would it prove if he is not quite as shot as Roy Jones?
Calzaghe got zero credit for that.

I guess we will have to wait and see. I think Barrera is shot to shit and expect Khan to steam roll him and finish the job in 5 rounds.

I think Khan's power has improved, Roach has got Khan to take his time and plant his feet when punching. Add that power to his speed and MAB could be in big trouble for a smaller guy who has not really felt the power at lightweight.

Exactly calz got zero credit for the fight and called all sorts during the build up. but Calz was one fight from retirement himself not up and coming.
For me its not the fight , boxing has these kinds of fights sadly , its the pish we will have to endure from the Khan camp when he wins.
I'm better than naz !
I'm better than morales !
I'm as good as Manny !
( even tho Im beating up on a man way past his best and tiny in comparison to me ! )
Khan has fought one genuine light weight ( even tho khan himself is probably really a LW !! ) and got sparked out ,
Pick on guys your own size and he'll get my respect again !

Scott Lawton was a real Lightweight, and even taller than Khan.

Fair point I forgot about him  hardly world class tho !
As I've said before I was a Khan fan but just have some f**Kin honesty about what you are about
Look at Haye , even tho he is the king of hyperbole he still admits his weaknesses and goes after guys who can hurt him.
Meanwhile were being told Khan is the best prospect in world boxing while conspicously fighting guys with 2KOS on their record or who had their best days 4 !!! weight division below where he is !
Anyhoo Im sure King Khan could give a f**k what i think

khan gets too much abuse on here because he is seen as synonomous with frank ******. he deserves credit if he beats barrera and thats a fact, no matter what condition he is in - it is probably the toughest fight he could have got in the circumstances. and all those calling for khan to fight murray or whatever will probably admit that murray has no chance against the current barrera.
im not khans biggest fan and we all know his weaknesses - and i really am bored of people going on and on about his 'glass jaw' (a cliche so overused it should make its way into the football commentary lexicon), cos they clearly havent got anything interesting to add. some people here will never be satisfied with him unless he becomes p4p number 1 and beats every top performer out there which we all know is never gonna happen. hes getting the best training available to him now and his opponents could finally be going in the right direction. if he does get a crack at the WBO from a win here then at least he will be fighting top 10 ranked LWs going forward which will see him sink or swim and we can hopefully all be happy. plus we will have another british world champ.

Great post mate:good
Looking at the photos of Khan face to face with MAB, Khan looked a bit nervy, I was thinking this world is crazy for money people are pushing a 22 young man vs a ATG Legend, and some people are still not happy.
Maybe Frank should make Khan fight David Haye, some people would love it to see Khan get killed in the ring. :happy

In the ring MAB looks in better condition then Jones but on paper Jones had a respectable comeback. The fights were well chosen. MAB just chose nobodies and people are using that against him.

I agree with Barrera this crap about Roach knows how to beat Barrera because he done it with Manny Pac. Manny is a special fighter the best in the world he is exceptional Roach cant take all the credit for a top pound for pound fighter winning as if he can do it with any fighter. Khan was nearly KO'd in a Commonwealth fight. If Barrera has got 50% left he can still win. Even if Khan has improved he will need to in able to have any chance.

In the pictures i've seen Khan looks much much bigger. My guess is that Barrera ain't as done as Jones was against JC but he's also undoubtedly smaller than his opponent.
all it will take is one decent shot on china boy's chin and he's done, I take Barrera by savage KO.
