Gotta go with Roy by UD, but really good fight.... Gotta give Moorer the chance of a KO though... Didn't he win all of his LHW fights by KO?

Michael Moorer is underated at light heaveyweight. However Jones Jr. is to fast. Jones 10 rounds Moorer 2 rounds.

jones= too much speed for mm...
Moorer had stamina issues down at 175, he was never a true LHW.
I do rate his chances though, he's got a 40% chance or so to land on Roy's chin and take him out. Otherwise Roy by pretty wide UD, something like 117-111, with Moorer tiring late in the fight and Roy pulling away.

Lots a very close rounds as Roy is careful to engage wary of Moorer's power but Micheal doesnt just give Roy points to score he would make it hard for him, Moorer did have alright skills. It could end up one-sided on the cards because I reckon Moorer will get more and more frustrated and would fade later. Allowing Roy to edge more rounds.
7 times out of 10 Roy is to slick to get caught and takes the decision.

Moorer was very good at LH, but he was still learning at 175. He was a load, but not an ATG. He definately would have given Roy a heluva fight, but I'd go with Roy.

roy in his prime was the best ever no contest
Don't go there, Bob Foster or Michael Spinks would have knocked him the fuck out.

:-( keep dreaming
Spoken like a man who has never seen nor knows nothing about Bob Foster or Micheal Spinks.

thats a little overboard. sure both fighters had the ability to do so. but it would be far from a forgone conclusion that they would. both fights are about 50/50 for me

As for me, but they are the only two light heavys who I would go as far as suggesting would have a 50/50 shot with Roy.

Honestly I think Spinks would beat Roy almost everytime.
Foster would probably be a 50/50 fight, Id give the slight edge to Roy actually.
I think Sister just said that because that Mundine fan obviously knows nothing about Foster or Spinks, he just loves Roy because Roy Snr trains his hero and his hero is a poor mans wannabe RJJ.

Moorer was a huge puncher at LH. Jones loved to fight southpaws. Moorer would have had too much trouble with Roys speed. Jones by decision.

Jones was that good he could overcome the natural awkwardness of fighting a southpaw.
But really some of his shittest performances before he started to really fade were against Harding, Griffin I, Tarver and O. Griffin..all Southpaws

Yeah but those guys were slick counterpunchers that liked to move backwards. Moorer was not that type of fighter.

No doubt, wasnt sure what you meant by that "Jones loves to fight southpaws" comment.

Are you guys fucking kidding me !?!?!? Roys my boy but he absolutely get KOed by Moore, moore was a juggernaut at 175. more too big too strong for Roy.
Moorer by KO as soon as he lands a power punch on that Glass Jaw.

Jones is overrated at 175. His opposition sucks there.

So does Foster's.
Jones era sucked there.....his opposition was the best available of that era except for one guy.
Jones could beat Moorer. Not sure he could beat Spinks, as I would bet on Spinks at this weight. I would also bet on Charles and Moore here as well.

If Jones can subdue Moorer's power than a comfortable win for RJJ. He couldnt allow Moorer to land though

No way Roy makes it 12 rounds without getting cracked.
Moorer KO

RJJ went rounds without getting hit, if he could keep moving he could take the win

Thats what they said when he fought Ruiz
Hard to compare Moorer with Ruiz. Moorer as a LH was a lot different than he was as a heavyweight, but he still had good overall technical skills. I still wouldnt think Moorer would be able to find Jones.

I didn't know that Ruiz was known as some kind of a knockout artist.

Much as I love Roy I gotta admit truth here. Especially Bob Foster, just a bad stylistic matchup for Roy.

One of the hardest punching LH in history. He won every fight by KO. Woops I thought you said Moorer.
