Morning Lads,
I usually do 3/4 4 mile runs during the week (try to keep it to 7 minute miles, not too hard and not too easy either) and then some intervals on a Saturday.
If I did 5 100m sprints at the end of my mid week runs would I still need to do the intervals?
Let me know what you guys think.

ive started putting sprints into my training now. never used to but thought the extra training would help.
so far ive just been sprinting up a steep hill. fucking killed me lol
before i did it i thought id do only 10 for now.
after 6 could barely bring myself to walk to the car lol so makes me realise i need to do it more often. think i started to big instead of working my way into
but anyways i think you should still do intervals because it's more like what your breathing would be in a fight. i.e. in a fight you would be fighting at range (jogging) and now and then flurries would be thrown (sprints)

Just came back from doing some tabatasprints and they almost killed me. I rather run 10 km each day than doing these! I hate them!:tired

never heard of them before and just googled them and think they are a good excerise and a nice quick routine to carry out, but like you say they look very tiring.

Start your training cycle with plain jogs... gradually start adding sprints until, by fight time, you are doing all sprints with jogging between sprints so you continue to get the aerobic benefit.
